Is this safe to spray directly into a dogs mouth? My puppy is a barker and I’m hoping to spray this in her mouth when she barks to deter her from barking

Answer by ChewySep 01, 2020
This spray is not designed to spray at the pet or into their mouth. We do not recommend trying to spray into your pets mouth as you may accidentally get the spray in their eyes or nose. The spray has an unappealing taste, making chewing on a particular sprayed object unpleasant and decreasing the unwanted chewing behavior.

I have a six month old. She chews on the legs of my coffee table when I'm at work. How long does this spray last

Answer by ChewyJul 02, 2020
NaturVet Bitter YUCK! No Chew Dog, Cat & Horse Spray is effective even after it is dry. It will typically last for two days however it is 98% water which can have an effect on wood.

Can I spray this on my Christmas tree to keep my cat from climbing in it and chewing on the branches? It is a fake tree.

Answer by ChewyNov 13, 2019
This product can be used on a fake Christmas tree. It helps stop pets from chewing themselves or items around your home, but may not deter climbing.

My cat wants to bite his tail will this work

This is designed to be sprayed on hot spots, sores, wounds, bandages, paws, tails and manes, bandages, furniture, drapes, plants, wood, or any other area where you need to curtail chewing behavior. Do not spray around the eyes or nose.

Marco thinks it tastes TERRIBLE, but that is the point, so I'm happy there. My only problem with this product is that the spray cannot be directed only to the desired place, avoiding over spray. I can taste it even in the air I am breathing! Also recommend wearing gloves or it will be on your hands...grrrr!!!

The bottle didn’t spray as expected. Every time I sprayed, the bottle leaked the liquid and I got it all over my hands and parts of my clothing. Even now, I day later I can’t get the taste out of mouth even after scrubbing my hands. As far as my cat, I haven’t had a chance to observe because of the time spent getting spray off of me. I just hope she doesn’t avoid me. Is this item returnable?

stops our kittens chewing on plastic

Our kittens were chewing on my O2 hoses and plastic bags especially Val. This stops him although I do need to reapply on plastic bags sometimes.

Bought this to deter my cats from eating/chewing up my houseplants, and it worked perfectly! I do have to respray maybe every month or three, but I think the cats are learning. No effect on plant health. **Always wash your hands immediately after spraying!!** Even if you don’t think you got any on your fingers, you did, and you will inevitably end up tasting it. It is extremely bitter, which is precisely why it works so well.

Not effective

This had no effect on my cat, she continued to chew on my plants even after I drowned it in this spray.

I bought this to spray on my ficus plants that my cats were nibbling. They take a couple bites and then throw it all up. As soon as I sprayed the leaves, they left the room. I have not had any more incidents of them throwing up green leaves. I only sprayed the plant the one time and appears it’s still working.

They say 1 out of 100 pups will love this stuff. My puppy Lamont, is that one. He loves it. Ate whatever we put it on. Lol. Then somehow it would be on my hands and end up in my mouth, awful taste that would not go away. I've seen this product work for other dogs and even a cat. Just didn't work for my pup.
