Great box!
This is the 2nd eco flex box I have purchased. The first one (white) I have had for many years and it looks brand new. The material it is made out of makes it very easy to wipe clean. I put a high back litter box in each. I have 4 cats and one is 15 lbs! She uses it just fine. The interior measurement for the standard size is misleading. The description says it is only 14 inches high inside. I think they measured from the outside, because the inside height is actually 19 1/2 inches. I almost did not buy it because of the stated inside height, thinking my cats would not have enough room. But there is plenty of inside height at over 19 inches. There are other boxes out there for more money. This one is a great deal especially when it’s on sale, ad it is well made. Also my husband put it together by himself in under an hour. This time I bought the russet color and the color in the photos is accurate. I highly recommend this product.
Great for My Two Cats
We originally had the standard size of this ECOFLEX litter box end table for a couple of years but with two cats the litter tray inside, though large in size, was too small and would get filled quickly and they'd make a mess inside the box with the litter. Though the Jumbo box is quite a bit larger in size, the extra large litter tray inside is much more roomier for them. I would have given this 5-stars but for some reason, on this jumbo one, the magnetic closure releases and the door slams if I should nudge against the box which is in our bathroom. That never happened on the standard size. Regardless, I would highly recommend this product for those who have multiple cats. It is made well and not difficult to assemble
Poor Design
This enclosure was poorly engineered. The sides have about 1/2 notches that fit into the wells at the bottom. These sides are heavy and will lean into the middle, so you really need two people or some tape to hold it in place while you try to put the top on. The top has wells that the side wall notches for into, but when you get one side in and try to get the other side in, it pops out of place and you have to start over. All of this before you are instructed to put any screws in. Just very frustrating. I think they should have just used real screws (not plastic) and get one side on at a time. Or make the notches and wells deeper so the side walls would stay secured.
Great enclosure!
Thus far, I have been very happy with this litter box solution for my cat. It looks nice, the quality is good and it was easy to assemble. I like the material the box is made out of because it should be easy to clean. However, cleaning hasn’t been necessary so far. I took some advice (and necessary precautions) from previous posters/reviewers. My sweet little Maggie likes to pee high in the litter box and down the wall of the box; so I have always had a problem with her peeing over the side of the litter box. I’m currently using the Frisco high-sided litter box (from Chewy) inside this enclosure. The box is high enough that it prevents her from peeing over the side of the box. (Note: I had to duck taped over the “handle” hole of the high sided litter box because if I put more than one bag of litter inside the box, the litter is just high enough that my cat can pee through the hole that is used as a handle to pick up the box. Yes, she is a clever girl). I purchased the jumbo enclosure/end table to accommodate the litter box. It fits perfectly inside. Also, some other reviewers mentioned duck taping along the seams inside of the enclosure in case there is and accident outside of the litter box. I took that advice along with lining the bottom with “puppy pads” underneath the litter box. So far, I have not had ANY accidents outside of the litter box so the enclosure has remained dry. Ultimately, it looks great and serves it’s purpose. I am extremely happy with it!
Great outdoor end tables
The perfect end tables for our covered porch. Not using for litter boxes. Bought 2 tables and 2 small indoor/outdoor pet beds. Cats lay inside between our rockers. The black matches our rockers. Is perfect height and looks great. Loved that no tools were required for assembly. And, was an easy assembly.
Very nice!
I bought the standard size originally and it was a great size! However, having two cats over 13 lbs and a large litter-box it was not ideal. Realizing that, I bought the jumbo and it is a very nice addition to my house! The box is just as pictured, and took roughly 30 minutes to put together. The enclosure is big enough for both cats to walk into without struggle, and fits a 24-inch high back litter-box. I love that it has some wiggle room as well, to prevent a claustrophobic feeling. I see reviews about cats urinating outside the litter and into the box, however I don't have that issue and my cats have never had that problem before buying this. As I said I do have a high back box to assist with that as well. I hope this detailed review helps you!!
Great Cat Boxes
I bought four of these for my cats and these worked great when I was in a place with carpet and needed to cover the cat boxes. However, my cats didn’t like the doors and my one cat was too fat for them, so I ended up removed the doors, but used these boxes for about a year. They were good condition and when I moved I donated to a shelter who LOVED them and still are using two when I went a few weeks ago. These are worth the money and last a while.
Use Drawer Liner to Leak-Proof
This was a great litter box enclosure! It served 4 cats for 3 years and stopped the giant dog from sampling "goodies" from the litter box. (Of course, it won't stop a smaller, or smarter and more persistent one.) We used plastic kitchen drawer liner from Ikea to make the inside bottom leak-proof. Others have used caulking. Use your DIY creativity! After 3 years, the door hinge broke, but the door still stayed in place because of the magnet closure. The IRIS USA Open Top Cat Litter Box w/Scatter Shield fits inside the standard size enclosure perfectly.
Don't buy if you have a high peeing cat
Not sure how I missed the cautionary reviews about this, but they're all true - this is NOT the product if you have a cat who pees high/outside the box. He peed out through the cord openings/ventilation windows. The pee that stayed inside the enclosure seeped into the cracks at the bottom of the enclosure, leaking out of the seams. It's impossible to clean those without disassembling this thing, but it's flimsy enough that it won't survive doing that very often. And all of this in the 10 days I've had this. If I could rate it zero, I would. An unfortunate waste of money.
Bad quality
I gave this product a while before I wrote a review because I wanted to be fair, but unfortunately it’s bad quality. Literally, whenever my cats get in it, it shakes and wobbles which freaks them out! It was easy to put together, but clearly that’s because it’s really junky!
