Questions & Answers

I see from the explanation the purple is easiest, teal is medium and orange is the hardest, can you tell me why there are difficulty levels? Trying to decide what is best for my 7 month old lovable but lightening fast border collie! Thanks!

Answer by ChewyJul 05, 2019
The different difficulties of these bowls help slow down quick eaters, while also allowing dogs that like to figure out puzzles a chance to "play with their food" at a level that challenges them.

Can this bowl be used for cats to slow their eating time?

Answer by ChewySep 07, 2018
This feeder could be used for cats as well. They may not be able to fit their mouth in however, they could use their paws to grab food out.

Which color bowls make for slowest eating?

Answer by ChewyDec 21, 2020
Each design sets a different difficulty. The Purple/Flower bowl is rated to be the easiest difficulty level, the Teal/Drop is of medium difficulty and the Orange/Coral is the most difficult.

How durable is the bowl? My boy is a chewer would this bowl be safe for him under supervision?

Answer by ChewyApr 02, 2019
This bowl is made with high-quality, food-safe plastic. However, it's recommended to supervision your pet if he is a chewer.

It's advertised as skid-proof and dishwasher safe, but the bottom is not flat: it is contoured to the shape of the molded plastic on the upper side. Like a hollow mold. Therefore, if you put it in the dishwasher, all the dirty, soapy water will collect in the hollows when you wash it, potentially spilling on your other dishes and getting them dirty too, even after the rinse cycle completes. If they say it's skidproof and dishwasher safe, it should have a truly flat bottom with a skidproof rough surface. Thanks!

This one is definitely a step up from whe one we had. If you put just dry in this it will prove a challenge for your pup. He will sometimes leave a bit and then return to finish it. I split my puppy's meals between this and a snuffle mat so the cats can have a moment of calm and sanity while they eat. The 4 cup is a BIG bowl. The size of a serving plate, and pretty deep. It's not flat on top either, the middle of the swirl is raised.

Nice bowl

I would buy this again. It’s made of a stronger material. The design has slowed down my fast eating Labrador but she figured out a system to still eat quickly.

Our Old English Sheepdog inhaled the food in his bowl in seconds flat until we introduced this slow feeder. It works great! He is clearly frustrated that he can't gobble down his kibble anymore, but he stays with it until the very last nugget is gone. He has, on occasion, successfully flipped it over, but usually not until the end when there are only a few pieces of kibble left. It is low to the ground and does not flip easily. Now his brother, who is a relatively slow eater, finishes first. Fun to watch the tides turn. Absolutely recommend this product to slow down a fast eater!

Great product!

This bowl does just the job! Slows down Marvin’s eating process! This is the “small” size bowl; perfect for his 3pm smaller meal!

This is an answer to a prayer. It’s deep enough that my 85 pound, eight month old lab can’t gulp all of his food in one go. It really slows him down and he seems to enjoy just licking around it. The only things that I would say would make this better is. If they made it in different colors and it had suction cups on the bottom instead of just a few nonslip silicone pegs. My big guy is pushing it a little across the floor. May be worse with age.

Slow Feeder

This slows our dog from gobbling her food. No more vomiting & she even 'chews' her food instead of 'inhaling' so fast.
