Can a dog wear these to swim in an above ground pool?

Answer by MopsyDec 08, 2025
You could try it. Worst thing that might happen is it fills with water and falls off. I don’t think it will happen right away they are fairly skin tight and my dog’s paws are completely dry after running through deep snow and puddles.

What is the opening mint for size Medium and size Small? From the reviews, neck of the opening is too narrow to put on.

Are these made in USA?

How do I size my booty order? I have a Yorkie and want to ensure I get the correct size

Answer by ChewyFeb 17, 2018
For the best fit, measure from the bottom of the big heel pad to the tip of the longest nail. If the paw is between two sizes, select the larger size.

Ok, she still gives me side-eye when I put them on and take them off (she hates her paws touched), but she doesn't try to kick them off and actually walks in them. Other boots make her walk funny, with a skipping gait, while she shakes her leg to get them off. This means we lose them, or she just stops walking and wants to go home. Not wearing anything, though, is not an option. She hates the salt, and if it's absent, she eventually gets too cold to continue. These are really the easiest to get on and keep on!

These 'boots' are essentially deflated latex balloons. Very challenging to get on my pup's paws. The best I could do was his two front paws. While it was a real struggle to get them on, the good news is he didn't seem to mind once they were on and they did keep his paws free of water and ice but they do not provide any warmth. I don't know if a larger size would have made a difference. Will keep looking!

Closets to wearing nothing at all for my dog

Love these boots. I use a PVC fitting just a bit larger than my dog's paw. I slip the boot over one end of the fitting and slide the boot right onto his paw.

Love these boots. I use a PVC fitting just a bit larger than my dog's paw. I slip the boot over one end of the fitting and slide the boot right onto his paw. Works fabulously. My dog loves to race around and has torn a few boots through the season. Totally worth the price.

I think the rubber has become thinner over the years and thus the dog's nails can perforate the bootie. That never used to happen and I'm extremely careful when

These boots do not fall off and allow for some paw - dexterity, which my dog seems to prefer over the hard soled booties. While they don't last forever (they do eventually get punctured from their nails, a rock, etc) they are a low enough price it's not as tough as losing an expensive dog boot! They are also great for paw injuries, as my dog cant lick his paw with them on.

While the boot size itself seemed like it was the correct size as measured, the opening to get the boots on was elastic and was so small and tight, I could not force them on for fear of hurting the dog's paws. Chewy gladly gave me a refund and recommended the Bark-Brite with velcro to tighten the opening.

I have used these balloon boots for my two small dogs over the past few years. Initially when they are brand new from package they can be too tight so I think it helps to stretch them out a bit. But my dogs have not shown discomfort while wearing them. I use them for snowy winters and sometimes rainy days. My dogs get snow stuck to their paw fur/hair which causes discomfort and this helps prevent that. One of my dogs loves to dig in the snow and sometimes one will come off and get lost and what helps is that the package comes with enough for when you lose one on a walk vs if I had spent even more money on only 4 shoes and lost one I’d be quite upset to lose it. The design seems stupid but is smart, just stretch the balloon over the dog’s paw and its on.
