Questions & Answers

Do you repot this in regular potting soil?

Answer by ChewyMay 21, 2025
Since Cat Grass is actually wheatgrass sprouts, it helps to think of it as produce and care for it in a similar way. The average lifespan of wheatgrass is about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on a variety of factors like the temperature, humidity, etc. The good news is there are things you can do to extend the life, like storing the pots in the refrigerator when your pet is napping or out on a play-date. Keeping it trimmed helps, too, and you can sprinkle the trimmed ends on your pets’ food. Transplanting to a larger pot will not extend its viability.

Is it unusual for a cat to regurgitate this immediately after eating ?

Answer by ChewyJun 23, 2025
Yes, it's normal for cats to vomit after eating this live grass cat treat or any type of cat grass. Occasional vomiting after eating grass is normal, but if your cat is vomiting frequently or showing other signs of illness, consult with your veterinarian.

Is this safe for dogs to nibble?

Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2025

I thought the three grass containers were great. What a wonderful idea to bring fresh grass to our indoor pets. I was so excited for Bert to try it. I put it down on a nice little plate and watched as he approached. The closer he got to the plate the lower in his crawl he became. His next movement was a sniff, a nudge and then a back away. “ Different, I don’t like it” and away he went. Never to go near it again. I put it in several different places thinking he’d change his mind. No luck! Just not his cup of Tea or plate of grass I guess. At least we both tried.

I got this as a gift to my cats for Christmas. Gosh, it’s pricey, but one of my cats absolutely loves fresh greens and they did arrive in good condition and they may live in the refrigerator quite a while in the bag provided if I water them. So if you can afford these extra extravagance, go right ahead.. they were much healthier than anything. I’ve been able to grow myself or what I’ve seen sitting at one of the local stores.. no mold. That’s my problem when I try growing my own.

Not every cat loves kitty-greens but mine do! I put this auto-ship every 2 weeks (that’s how long they last) and put them in different areas for them to find. When they ship you get them in 3 days tops! Have not had a bad-batch and I live in the frozen mid-west!

Easy to make

Comes with too many seeds.. stronger recommend stirring into soil as it lasts longer.. my cat loves these until I forget to water it and drys out or gets root bound

Easy to maintain

This grass is so easy. Even for someone who can kill a cactus. It grows fast too! I thought it was beautiful but cat was disinterested. She never had an interest

This grass is so easy. Even for someone who can kill a cactus. It grows fast too! I thought it was beautiful but cat was disinterested. She never had an interest in eating grass (and she has hairballs) but she likes being outside. I tried cutting some up and putting it in her food. Nope. But I put it out with some catnip in it and she liked it. Just not enough to eat. Bottom line if your cat is smart enough to eat grass to maintain their digestion get this. Hands down best. Forgot those seed kits. These are over a week old now just starting to yellow so I’ll trim and plop them in the fridge.

I was so excited to find a grass product my boy Toby would love.

It never occurred to me he’d be so picky as not to like wheat grass. He won’t touch it! I’d always grown him oat grass previously. Back to the old fashioned

Pleasantly Surprised

This is the best cat grass I have ever purchased. I've tried a few different brands to grow my own. However, they took longer to grow than they were supposed to,

This is the best cat grass I have ever purchased. I've tried a few different brands to grow my own. However, they took longer to grow than they were supposed to, they didn't last long, and they got moldy. These were the first live plants I have tried. The first plant allowed my cat to snack for about 2 weeks before it started to wilt. I will definitely purchase this again!

Good value

My cat LOVES them and I no longer have to try to 'brush' her teeth with the wipes.
