This back carrier is a good size and sturdy construction. It's still new to me so I can't say how long it will last yet. I do appreciate that PetAmi has so many color options. That is one reason I was swayed to buy one from them. I also appreciate the water cup. My dog does currently fit inside this, although if he grows much more, he will outgrow it. He is about 13 pounds now and can still move around inside easily.
I have a 10lb calico shorthair and I think this bag is a little small for her. She can sit in it and lay in it, but there isn't really room for her to move around and she doesn't like being confined. It's probably better for a smaller cat, maybe a good transition bag for kittens. It's a nice color and feels very sturdy.
My owner and I agree your cat backpack is cats meow as it helps get me fresh air and an opportunity to spend more time with my owner. We'd give it a 5 star, but unfortunately we've had to modify the pack a bit because there is no padding where the platform board hits one's back. It hurts, especially with a 13 pound cat, like me. We'd recommend looking into changes by adding padding at the base. Love the pockets, the folding food/water dish, and the front and side doors zippping securely. Thanks for any changes you can make for future.
I'm on a month-long visit to a city where I have to take this bus, and the public transit system insists on "caged" animals, so my usual carry sling wasn't good enough. This was great for taking my 10 pound dog on bus trips, and the pockets were great for tossing in my wallet and a few accessories in order to travel light to the dog park. She seems comfortable in the carrier, and the backpack straps make it easy to bring along. I've only worn it backpack style with her in it once or twice, but the weight distribution was fine, maybe just a bit awkward. However, I usually walk her with the pack on my back, and then put her in and carry by the top handle when it is time to board the bus. It fits nicely on my lap.
Works well to take the cat places and keep her safe. The chest and waist straps help distribute the weight and keep it from bouncing against your back
Our human minion bought this to give us all a chance to be outside with her. For other cats, it's a great product. Our minion says it's pretty comfortable, and she was pleased with the design and the collapsible water dish that comes with it. We, however, will have nothing to do with it. We siblings are around 10 lbs, and it seems barely tall enough for us, with not much space. We have refused to go in it no matter how many pieces of freeze dried chicken she puts inside. She tricked our 8 pound mother into going in it, but she meowed "let me out" for the entire 5 minute walk. Perhaps in time we might get used to it, but our minion is seriously considering retuning it. Not because there's anything wrong with it, but because it's not much use if we won't go inside it. It's a great idea for a kitten or smaller cat to get them used to it, but thus far, we are not impressed.
Pros: it's my cat's favorite carrier, we've tried quite a few. He can comfortably sit or lay down. Cons: it's such a pain to clean if they go to the bathroom inside. You have to fully submerge it in a bucket or tub and hang dry somewhere you're comfortable smelling like cat pee for a while (we use a spare bathroom) with the fan on. It's not easy to get a pee pad in and have the ride be comfortable at the same time due to it's shape. Hesitancies: we still don't know if it will be allowed on a plane (please like this review if you've had success with it in the airport!) Becuase he likes it so much we are sticking with it.
its obvious that the 'backpack' style was very difficult to get the backpack off my back, even a moment that a little panic. it is more of 'operator error'.
I was little skeptical of this carrier as my cat is a bit of a chonker. However she fits perfect. The bag is so much bigger in person. The sides and bottom of the bag are super sturdy and there’s a removable pad at the bottom of the bag for kitty’s comfort. The bag even has small hooks to clasp the zipper closed for extra security. Highly recommend this carrier!
I’m traveling and want to take my dog with me but not in a typical carrier. I wanted a backpack. This one was absolutely perfect
