My kitty just turned 1, and chewy had a coupon for 20% off anything in the birthday section. I saw this and thought it would be cute and fun. It was really simple to make. I added 1 spoonful of their wet canned chicken food to the mix and it still 'baked' nicely. I think where this starts to go wrong is the 'frosting'. I decorated the three little cakes after mixing up the frosting, and served it to my cats. They all took one small lick of the frosting and it was a no -go. I looked at the ingredients for the frosting and its just "dried yogurt", so i tasted a tiny bit. Yuck. really bitter and gross, i cant blame them for not wanting to eat it. I turned the cakes upside down and they did eat a bit of the actual cake part, but that frosting was pretty bad. Maybe next time i would use a wet canned cat food as the topping, and forego the frosting. But all in all it was easy to make and a fun little idea for my kitties. the mold is reusable, so that's nice.… more
I give this ZERO stars? it deserves zero stars...

I only gave this A single star because I was forced to in order to submit this review.
This was so disappointing. I was thrilled to FINALLY find a birthday dessert for cats and make this for my boy on his 12th Birthday. Which is today- Happy Birthday, Jon!
Imagine my heart wrenching sadness when I followed the instructions to the letter and wound up with this mess of hot, congealed, mostly evaporated slop. I will not be feeding this to my sweet baby angel. I wouldn’t even leave this outside for the raccoons. They deserve better.
If you don't like your cat...

I don't know if my cat would have eaten the cake, but he wouldn't come near me after getting a taste of the frosting and foaming at the mouth for a couple minutes. Terrible thing to watch. I got a paper towel and wiped out his mouth as much as I could and he stopped foaming.

My Ollie kitty (orange and white) LOVED his Petcakes birthday cake! I let him lick the batter off the spoon, naturally, as it was his special day! I actually think he liked the batter more. His sister, Sabrina (black kitty), loved hers too! I didn’t put any meat inside.
Great idea but my cats didn’t like it

This is a cute idea; however, my cats did not enjoy it. Even my cat who eats everything shunned from it. I will be using the mold but finding a different recipe for fur babes.

Sadly my cats didn't love it, but my friends cats did love it and demolished it lol.
Cute idea, but not a hit

The cats were not a fan. They licked a little bit of the frosting off, but didn't eat any of the cakes themselves. We had to throw it in the trash. Too bad, it was a cute idea.
easy to do, but my cats didn’t eat it

I bought this for my kitties first birthday. I read the reviews but thought I’d try since my cats aren’t normally too picky. But they HATED it. Neither of them ate it at all and they actually completely ignored the cake. They didn’t even like just the icing. The cake was simple enough to make but kind of smelly. Oh well.
It was ok my cat

This cake was so nasty my cat will not even eat it
Not a treat my pets love

I made a little cake for our cats on their adoption anniversary. Neither of them would eat it. :-(
Since I only made one cake, we’ll give it a go with the optional canned chicken with the remaining mix. But if they eat that, it’ll be because of the chicken, not the cake itself, since we have established they don’t like the cake.
