purchased this for Jay Jay, an american bulldog with hip issues. I made sure that I ordered the right size but it is a very sloppy fit. I think that the product itself needs to be enhanced to allow proper support.
Has helped to get the dog moving after being paralyzed by truck hitting him. Wish people would not let their dogs loose, tooooo many cars!!
Our Cooper lost full function of his hind legs. We find long towels or old sheets work much better. Not easy to put on for our guy. Perhaps a partially paralyzed dog might be a better candidate for the product .
I purchased a large size harness. The belly strap is fine. The leg straps are poorly thought out on both ends. The buckles on top are positioned too close to each other and my female dog keeps peeing on them because they are too close together at the center. The other end is a sliding fastener which constantly comes loose and unbuckles. Not as good as some other rear harnesses that I use.
Fits great and when she lets us put it on her, she gets up the steps with less breathing problems and hopefully less stress on her hind end.
Sadly I purchased this harness because my dog was ill. It served its purpose but unfortunately my sweet Bella passed away. A few days later still grieving my door bell rang. When I answered the door there were flowers sent from Chewy by a young lady named Amber. I was very touched by her act of kindness and will never forget.
For rear-end support Harnesses, this one was better made and engineered than most others, but was still clumsy in its use - our dog didn't like it. So, we went back to using one of our very long Beach Towels. We folded it length-wise twice, and it works pretty good for our 55 lb dog.
Our girl has DM and at 11 is fading fast. She can only walk a couple of steps without collapsing. This devise is very uncomfortable for her. We have found a simpler sling is better for us to use.
Both my dog and I are seniors. This simple tool has helped the dog both up and down the steps using only the middle cinch strap. The handle is easy to grip and adjustable for fit and use. I don’t strain my muscles or bones to help the dog using this lift. It seems strong enough to last many years. The extra straps for the legs are nice to have but not needed yet. Many ways to use this device. Good value.
Cumbersome, complicated, not for male dogs, and doesn’t look like picture
