Great quality stairs except for one thing
I love the stairs and I love the fact that they’re lined and they’re starting. The only thing is they’re really slippery if you put them on a bare floor without a rug my dog is scared to go up them because they move around. If you have carpet you won’t have this problem but unfortunately I have wood floors so I’m gonna have to try to find something that will grip it and not allow it to slide.
worked well at first…
This seemed great at first, but the steps aren’t wide enough and there’s only padding on the middle part. One or two mis-steps and my dog won’t use it anymore because he’ll just slide off. If you’re looking for steps I’d say don’t get the cheaper option… go for a ramp or cloth/padded steps all the way around.
Wouldn’t buy!
I have a miniature schnauzer that will run up and down the stairs in my house so when I bought a new bed, it was a little too high for him to jump. I bought these because the reviews were pretty good but this is a cheap product! My poor Bo is so easy to train but I can’t get him to go on the stairs! I’ve used treats but the steps are wobbly and shallow. He is scared to death of them! I’m pretty sure they only show the great reviews! I will be returning these as soon as possible! Not worth the money!
Great Steps
I just ordered my 6th set of these steps. We have had this exact brand over the last 15 years for our chihuahuas. They are sturdy, easy to keep clean, and they fold up to take along on trips or stash behind a door. This recent purchase was the gray version. All our others are the tan version. The only thing different about this newest one is that the felt pads don't stick as well as they do on the previous stairs.
Hideous, but it works
This thing has the aesthetic appeal and build quality of a child's wading pool. Also, mine arrived with a significant crack at one corner that luckily doesn't affect its stability. But it gets my 15 year old cat up onto the windowsill for bird-watching, so basically it does the job. The proportions seem about right for an adult cat or a small dog.
Sturdy stairs for dogs that need help
This is the second time I have purchased these stairs. They are sturdy and look exactly like the picture. If you have hardwood floors, I suggest a different kind of pad for the feet but they will do in a pinch. The only reason I knocked off a star is because I use them on the side of the bed and I have a frame that makes a gap between the mattress and the first step. I wish the top step was about an inch longer or so to help bridge the gap. It's a nice feature to be able to fold these out of the way but just know it's not a very easy process, you'll pinch a finger or two the first few times.
Just what I needed
really easy to assemble, steps are short so could be used for any size dog. my dog is 85 lbs and it's kinda funny to watch him do those tiny steps but it works great and supports him. mine is setting on carpet and it doesn't scoot around. my cat uses it too, just cause it's something else to climb on. not an eye sore like most steps for pets. great product for the price
Great Steps!
I looked at other retailers and other steps that costs twice as much as these. Yes; the others were mostly made out of some type of metal, but these are great. These are light enough to maneuver, they fold for convenience, but they are sturdy enough to support my 110lb dogs. I'm not sure how long they will last, but considering the construction and material, I think they'll last fairly well with periodic use.
Great stairs with some training
My 12-year old boy (65 lb lab mix) needed help getting on the bed. When these came I was a little worried that he would simply never use them, but with some training with high value treats (cheese!) and guidance for a few weeks, he now uses them no problem on his own. What a joy to see him on the bed all by himself again! I will say these can be a little wobbly, so I would recommend putting my something to anchor and provide stability.
Not sturdy enough
Unfortunately I got this for my bigger boy, I wanted something to help him get off the bed rather than jumping off. It is not sturdy enough and as soon as he steps on it the steps are unbalanced and wobbly. So he will not even entertain the idea of using them. Going up is not as bad. But going down looks like a safety hazard. I may have to try and return them.
