Sturdy, stable, perfect for taller beds.
I recently purchased this after one of the dachshund herd (3 of them) boogered up his back leg. My bed is 24" tall and I was really struggling to find something that didn't have a ridiculously steep incline or was huge. Well, yes, this is huge, but it goes along the side of the bed as in the picture and it is easy to get used to. The covering is nice and is VERY sturdy and stable, which was my greatest concern. The dachshunds use it just fine. Except for the princess, because ramps are for peasants.
Good for stable pups, but too thin slippery for old boys and girls.
I got this for my 12 year old aussie with stability problems (vestibular disease) in late March and unfortunately it's unusable for him. The combination of the width (or lack thereof, rather), steepness, and the carpeted material on the ramp itself cause him to slip and slide on it before even getting all four paws on the ramp... let alone trying to climb it. Having said that, I think the ramp build quality is solid and will be great for a small to medium sized pup.
Perfect for my baby girl
My dog came down with a mysterious illness that was causing her severe neck/back pain. We have a high bed (with a high bench to help her jump on to get up) and needed a ramp to make it easier for her to get on without hurting her neck/back. This ramp is the perfect height (tall enough for our high bed) & so sturdy. I don't worry about her walking or even running up & down it sometimes. It took her a few days to get used to it (and lotsssss of treats!), but now she uses it exclusively and makes it so we can still snuggle on the bed!
This ramp is okay, but it's very slippery for my 50lb dog. My 20 lb dog (who is younger and not who needs it) seems to handle it fine. I plan to buy something to make it less slippery (maybe a yoga mat) but you would think they could have done that originally. I wish I'd just spent the extra $200 and gone with royal ramp. Also if the carpet it sits on is too plush, it wobbles a little. I put another smaller ramp next to it to help hold it in place. If it wasn't such a hassle to break it down and ship it back, I'd be returning it. Very disappointed.
This ramp is a lifesaver....MINE!
A friend suggested that I get a ramp because my 18 year old cat cannot jump anymore. She was waking me up all night after a snack or litter box break. I could not sleep well and was getting cranky. She learned to use it easily (with treats at the top) and now I can sleep all night. We both love it!
Anything for the puppy
Our 11 year old Shih Tzu has major back issues so to keep us from picking him up to put him in bed, I ordered this ramp! It has been great, he has no issues going up and down! We love it and he doesn’t slip since it has carpet
My bed is way too high for my wiener posse. Researched ramps and this was the clear winner. At 25 inches, it is still a hop up onto the bed, but the leveled platform gives the dogs the right angle to jump on. No problem with slipping on the ramp, though i added an extra rug for more traction. Very sturdy, and easily assembled. A little pricy but totally worth it.
I love this ramp. Our dogs of all sizes and shapes can use it. Up until today I would have given it a 5 but I tripped on the end of it the other day and fell back on the ramp which cracked the support brace. When I called to purchase a replacement part… I was told this piece is not available. They could just offer a discount off a whole new ramp- yikes that was horrible customer service. I don’t have a way to drill the holes properly so will have to figure out a different way to brace. So disappointed but wanted to make others aware… maybe no one else will trip and fall like I did.
Best ramp for large dogs
This is my second ramp to try for large dogs (65 and 80 pounds), and it works perfectly. It protects my girls’ joints from jumping up and down from my tall bed. Highly recommend.
Dog Ramp is a PLUS
My short legged friends were always dependent on my to get back up on my bed. And I knew jumping off my bed couldn’t be a good thing. All their weight on front shoulders. At first my pug wouldn’t use it. But my little Chichewa’s would. And by the second day my pug used it to. It was really easy to put together. I’m so glad I bought this dog ramp.
