The PetSafe Pet Loo Portable Indoor & Outdoor Dog Potty is your backyard in a box. Ideal for apartments or in times when you can’t just let your pet out, this system gives your dog, cat or other small pet a convenient and more comfortable alternative to potty pads. The top layer lets your pet feel the grass under his paws and allows urine to quickly drain through. The reinforced base has a slight angle so all urine collects into a removable waste bin for super easy clean-up. When you can’t bring your pet to the backyard, bring the backyard to your pet!

How do I clean it?
To clean up your pet’s waste, remove the waste container and dump the urine in your toilet or yard. The waste container holds 2 liters of liquid and is made of a material that reduces odor. For even easier cleanup, place a Pee Pod into the waste container. These disposable pods are lined with our Wee Sponge powder that solidifies into a gel when it comes in contact with liquid, effectively trapping urine and odors. For your pet’s solid waste, use a pooper scooper or a poop bag.
Does your dog lift his leg to mark his spot? Place a small vertical object like a disposable cup or flowerpot in the middle of the Pet Loo, then remove it once your dog is comfortable using the Pet Loo.
Can I buy more than one and join them together?
Yes. This setup is perfect for multiple pets, very large pets, or pets who need extra room to circle before using the Pet Loo. The Pet Loo has been designed so that two or more units can easily be placed next to one another to create the feel of a park.
Can I move The Pet Loo around or does it have to stay in one place?
You may need to do this in the crucial training stage, but please note that although your dog may be using the Pet Loo confidently, a sudden change may be confusing. Make sure that if you are moving the location of The Pet Loo, that your dog is introduced to the Loo’s new position promptly and in a positive manner. The Pet Loo is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
How often do I have to change the synthetic grass?
While we have gone to great strengths to make Pet Loo grasses as durable and tough as possible, Pet Loo Grass will need replacing over time. This will depend on how often you clean the Loo, how many dogs are using it, and the Loo’s positioning. Average use will require replacement grass every 6-12 months.
Is it okay if my pet sleeps and eats on the Pet Loo?
Any activity other than toileting should not take place on or near the Pet Loo. Pets generally don't like to use the bathroom where they eat or sleep. This is why crate training works for puppies. Feeding your pet by the Pet Loo could cause your pet to stop using it.
My puppy keeps chewing the synthetic grass and pulling it off the Pet Loo. What can I do?
We do not fasten the synthetic grass onto the base unit as the fasteners would act as a trap for bacteria. As a temporary solution, you can attach small velcro dots to the corners of the grass while your dog gets accustomed to the Loo.
The synthetic grass seems to be losing grass blades around the edge.
Pet Loo grasses do not have finished edges because it would be a trap for bacteria. If the mat is cut on the tuft, it is normal for the grass to shed at the edges, just as a new carpet would. This should stop over time and is nothing to worry about in terms of the product’s effectiveness.
Why is my Pet Loo starting to smell?
Although you may be following the cleaning instructions closely, every pet is different – and so is his pee! Age, gender, and diet all play vital roles in the waste your dog produces. So if you are finding that your Loo is starting to smell, consider a cleaning product such as Wee Care or Pet Pods.
Wee Care is an enzyme-based solution designed to eliminate unwanted odors from your pet’s waste. It works by breaking down the fatty particles and proteins found in waste. Wee Care, like our entire enzyme cleansing range, is chemical free and 100% safe for people, pets, and the environment.
The revolutionary Pee Pod is a biodegradable container that fits neatly inside the waste container of the Pet Loo. When your pet’s urine touches the Wee Sponge powder, it solidifies into a gel, trapping liquids and airborne odors. The Pee Pod can hold about 2 liters of liquid. Simply throw out the pod and replace it with a new one every few days.
My Pet Loo Replacement Grass does not fit the Pet Loo.
If you purchased one of the very original Pet Loos (circa 2006-2007), you will notice that it is 2 centimeters or less than an inch larger in both width and length. Replacement Grasses for these Loos are not always in stock at your local pet store. Call our Customer Care Center to request a special replacement.

Did not come with all of the parts.
By Brianna on Jan 11, 2021
Once I opened and set up everything, I realized it did not even include the Wee Sponge so the urine just collects in the liner and is already so difficult to remove since it's so easy to spill. I don't understand how it was missing the sponge but yet came with the material to pour over the sponge so that it eliminates odors. Also, when either of my dogs step onto the potty, it sounds like things are popping or like the dog potty might break with every step. In the end, I'm not so sure that this was worth the hefty price

Did not serve its purpose
By Bird on Nov 3, 2020
I was very disappointed, The grass did not tuck in very well. The first day I set it up. Later I had to leave so I put in the pups play pen with pup. When I got back, She had the grass out and all tore up. Maybe if the grass was bigger so it secured. I had to throw it all a way. What a waist.

The Best One on the Market
By Olivia on Oct 4, 2020
The PetLoo, in my unbiased opinion, is one of the best on the market. It can be indoor/ outdoor, it’s raised so nothing leaks out of the sides, and it has an irrigation system so nothing is just sitting there, so it isn’t absorbing liquid and smells. I got the large for two dogs I dog sit. One is about 25lbs and the other is under 10 lbs and it’s a good size for the back porch. Would this work for a huge breed (ie: mastiffs, Great Danes, etc)? Maybe not. But it’s a good alternative for small, medium, and even large dogs who don’t have direct access to grass.

Kuna loves her new bathroom
By Kuna on Sep 7, 2020
I live on the third story of a condo building and had a subscription to a service that would deliver a piece of sod. It would arrive brown or black a significant portion of the time and was fairly expensive, so I decided to give this a try. I was worried Kona would not take to the Astroturf, but she does a great job on it!

Absolutely Love this product!!!!
By AvaK on May 26, 2020
My chihuahua uses this every night and on stormy/rainy days. Basically whenever we don't want to make the trip downstairs. We live in an apartment in the city and have this in our front entry for her. It doesn't smell as long as you keep up with cleaning it. She loves it and is trained to go on it and it makes life soo much easier with a newborn. It's easy to clean, maintain and we're still on our first grass pad, 9 months in! I highly recommend for any puppies training, small dogs, apartment living- over any other mat and we've used countless over her 8 years with us.

By banana on May 9, 2020
The idea of it is great...of course it was some work potty training my dog to pee on it..when he peed on it it was great very convenient..the turf didn’t stay in well every time my dog would get on it the turf just slide off and he likes to tear it up..ended up throwing out the turf and I liked the box better with out it personally..overall the rest of the box was durable no issues with anything else
