The chicken bits are too tough and there isn't any gravy. It's just liquid. When they finish that they walk away. I know it's a good product, low calories but, the extra cost isn't worth it if no one likes it.
The can is half gravy & way overpriced for such tiny cans. My cat liked the gravy but once he licked it off, he wouldn’t eat the meat chunks. I won’t Buy again.
Bought with good intentions for our 8 year old Lily. She is a little hefty. It did not agree with her at all. Will donate to APL.
I've been feeding my two cats a variety of Purina canned foods with Purina One Ideal Weight Chicken and Salmon varieties as the foundation of their diet. Initially I was satisfied with this choice, however the last three cases of the Ideal Weight Chicken have failed to meet my expectations. In these last three cases I've discovered that there is less meat than there used to be. I weigh out each meal for my two cats because one is prone to putting on weight. Because I do that I noticed when the amount of meat decreased. By my calculations (using an electronic kitchen scale) there has been an average of 8 grams less meat per can. That's enough to make me choose other options, but in the last case there have also been two bad cans. One can was obviously bulging and I threw it out immediately. Tonight I served the second can in question. There was no visible damage to the can, but when I set it down for the cats they didn't want it. Neither one is a picky eater and the one that scarfs dinner down like a dog walked away from the food and meowed at me. She went back to it and tried to take another bite, but walked away again so I threw it away. When I offered them a different food they both ate every bite. There appears to be a major quality control issue with this food now and I can no longer recommend it.
After spending way too much time investigating the calorie content of a ton of canned cat foods I tried this one with my cat Bobby who is, shall we say, portly. He is the cat version of a Labrador Retriever and food is his great joy in life. He'd been doing well on a dry prescription satiety support formula by another brand but it seemed unfair to deny him variety in his diet. The other brand's canned version was outrageously expensive to begin with, then they shrunk the portion size and I just couldn't justify it. After the research mentioned above I found this option. I prefer Purina anyway, and was pleased to see that this is not calorie dense like most of their foods tend to be (even the 'lite' versions). I bought a 24 pack and fed it to my cat. He loves it, and his weight has remained stable, which was the goal. This isn't cheap, but it's not exorbitantly priced, it's palatable, and it works. I recommend!
My 2 Burmese kitties suck this down! I’ve tried a couple of wet foods, but they get bored with it. This one has been a hit for months.
I took in a stray kitty last year who had evidently been on the streets for quite a while. She's obsessed with food and quickly became overweight. We had to pick up our kibble feeder and make other adjustments. One adjustment was to try a "diet" food. She happily eats this - though I suspect she'd eat anything! No weight loss yet, but she hasn't been on it long. At least she's stopped gaining. So one step at a time I guess!
My Mylo, Really enjoyed the broth, however, will not eat the chicken... Trying to put him on a diet, being, I have recently retired, and the Vet told me he gained a significant amount of weight.
My baby boy loves this food.
Pepper loves his cans of ONE, and doesn't recognize it's weight control. He does, however, think that the cans should come in gallon size, so he could eat his fill. ;-)
