Carcinogenic Garbage that doesn’t inflame allergies

On the one hand, this food has helped us identify that she has SOME allergy to SOME food because her skin has significantly calmed down. What feels unconscionable is to feed her this absolute garbage, first ingredient is cornstarch!!!! with partially hydrogenated canola oil, a carcinogenic ingredient banned even in the US as it is deemed unfit for human consumption, as it’s 4th ingredient. It took several days for my ravenous dog to touch this garbage and she will literally eat anything. It was on day 2 that I finally read the ingredients, last time I trust my vet!!, and I burst into tears. I’m just as desperate as any pet mom to alleviate my baby’s suffering, but I cannot justify solely feeding her, this is the ingredient list in orde): corn starch, hydrolyzed soy protein isolate, coconut oil, partially hydrogenated canola oil preserved with TBHQ, powdered cellulose . . . shame on Purina for this product. I will continue to search for real food that can help alleviate my dog’s terrible allergies. And I will only do that through chewy bc Chewy is by far the best pet supply company of all time!! Love you guys! Rachel (and Autocorrect)

Also, to make it even more digestible (or for those with bad teeth) the dry kibble can be soaked: 10 min in warm water and it gets nice and soft. Easy to flavor with those add-ons that your dog is not allergic to (for example, a broth made with lamb and lamb bones cooked in InstantPot; economical and you choose what goes in there). You can sneak in cooked vegetables that way (for those pups with kidney stones talk to your Vet about which veg is appropriate). Same for supplements, kelp powder, lecithin, etc. It is very empowering to know the big, furry one can have allergies and still enjoy something flavorful and healing to the stomach since you are completely in control of what goes in the food bowl. :-)

Our English Bulldog is allergic to everything. We have have tried just about all dog foods available. Even raw food that we make at home has ingredients that he can have. He can have fish, kangaroo, peanut butter, watermelon, and bananas which I didn’t think would make a healthy diet if that was all he was eating. Our vet prescribed this food and it has been a game changer. He has been on it for over a year now, and his fur isgood, his itching is less, he loves the taste, and his stools are extremely small. I highly recommend it if your dog is not able to eat other dog food. It is hydrolyzed so his body doesn’t recognize the food as being an allergen even if it is something he is allergic to.

The quality of this food is elite!!!

EXTREMELY frustrating that most dog food brands use different ingredients than that are listed on the back of the bag. Frustrating when the ingredients do not match

EXTREMELY frustrating that most dog food brands use different ingredients than that are listed on the back of the bag. Frustrating when the ingredients do not match what is in the bag. Recently found out that dog food companies do not have to use the ingredients that’s on the back of the bag every single time. Which makes for allergy issues with our dog. Grateful this food is what it says it is!!!!

Buddy 12 yrs old Yorkie, he’s had intestinal issues his whole life I’ve tried everything even pro biotics it made him worse bloody diarrhea in & out of the Vets office more antibiotics so my Vet finally put him on Tylan powder worked great for two years than back to having any diarrhea his diet was boiled chicken breast white sweet potatoes peas carrots but out of the blue he started back with loose poo so Vet put him Parina pro hydrolyzed, corn protein, yuck stuff no smell really no taste but it’s working I tried slowly adding chicken but he had loose poo again. I just wish there was more vitamins in the food- I do add warm water cause he only has his back teeth. It took a couple of days for him to really eat it.

Miley does not like this food at all. I am in the process of eliminating her old and transitioning to this new Purina HA diet. It’s meat free since we are trying elimination diet. She picks through and will only eat the old. Unfortunately, I am having to sprinkle a topper and this is defeating the purpose of the Vet recommended diet.

Good for tummys but dog hates it

This food was best for our dogs sensitive tummy and allergies, but she lost all excitement for dinner. Still ate it but definitely didn't like the flavorless yellow

This food was best for our dogs sensitive tummy and allergies, but she lost all excitement for dinner. Still ate it but definitely didn't like the flavorless yellow kernels. Also make sure you get the right bag size your dog will eat in a few weeks or keep it sealed, once it goes stale she wouldn't eat it at all. Not for dogs with bad teeth

Changed my dogs life!

I never believed much in prescription diets but after trying countless different foods, none of which solved my dogs sensitive stomach issues, this food was a lifesaver!

Dog food broken up in small pieces

The dog food had a lot of broken up bits of dog food. Not like other bags we have used of this same kind. This bag seemed to be bits from the end of a run.
