It can be difficult to find the perfect meal when your dog has a sensitive stomach. If your best bud needs extra care, feed her Purina Pro Plan HA—a veterinary diet that's crafted especially for her unique digestive needs. This tasty chicken-flavor pate is made with hydrolyzed protein sources, which are proteins broken down into tiny components. The special proteins are easier to digest, and are often recommended for dogs with sensitivities. Purina Pro Plan HA is made with just one carbohydrate source, for canines with allergies, and it's even boosted with antioxidants to support her immune system. If your vet has recommended this food, it's because it may allow your pup to eat without fear of stomach upset.

Key Benefits
  • Formula contains hydrolyzed protein sources—these are proteins that are broken down into tiny components for dogs who are sensitive to protein.
  • Contains just one, low-allergen carbohydrate source, so it's safer for pups with allergies.
  • Highly digestible formula is easy on your dog's sensitive stomach.
  • Contains antioxidants to support her immune system, so she can fight off unwanted invaders and keep feeling her best.
  • Great taste tempts your dog to the bowl—after all, healthy food only matters if your dog will eat it!

  2. At checkout, you’ll be asked for required information. Enter your pet’s name and type your vet’s name and telephone number.
  3. Place your order, and we’ll take care of the rest!

How will you contact my vet?

Our Vet Diet team will personally contact your vet for approval. If your clinic needs more information from you or recommends a different diet, we’ll let you know immediately.

Does it help if I send you my prescription?

Yes! If you have a paper copy of your prescription, email a picture to vetdiet@chewy.com, start a chat, or fax your prescription to 1-800-619-7973.

Can I use a prescription written by a veterinarian out of state?

Of course! We can accept valid prescriptions from anywhere in the United States and Canada—that includes US territories, like Puerto Rico.

Why do I need a prescription?

Veterinary diets are formulated with the precise ingredients and nutrients needed to address specific medical issues. If you don’t have a paper prescription, no sweat—once you provide your vet’s information, our team will take over.

Can someone else (such as a caretaker or family member) place an order for my pet?

Yes, but we’ll need them to provide us with your full name or the pet’s owner’s name via phone, email or chat after the order is placed, so the clinic can locate your pet’s records when we contact them.

How can I help expedite my order?

Just follow these simple steps: 1. Create your pet ’s profile on Chewy.com. 2. If you have an Autoship scheduled, but you’re running low on refills, contact us ahead of time to let us know if you have a new clinic or if any prescription information has changed. 3. If you have a prescription handy, send it to us before you order—by sending an email to vetdiet@chewy.com, starting a chat with one of our experts, or faxing us at 1-800-619-7973.

Do I need to set up a pet profile?

We recommend it, but it’s not required. You can create your pet’s profile by logging in at Chewy.com, hovering over your account, and choosing “pet profile.”

Do prescriptions expire?

Yes. Your vet will tell us when your prescription will expire and how many refills we can send before they’d like you to check back in with them.

Can I set up auto refills?

Yep! Sign up for Autoship and we’ll automatically ship your food for as long as your prescription allows. If you run out of refills, or your prescription expires, we’ll automatically contact your vet for a new approval. If we hit any bumps in the road, we’ll let you know right away.

What if I have more questions? How can I reach the Vet Diet team at Chewy?

  • My dog loves it!

    By on

Toretto is so excited when he gets to have the soft food. He is on a strict diet due to skin allergies and he can no longer have any treats, cheese, or peanut butter, so giving him his pills has become a pain! We bought the soft food in hopes he would take them and it works! He gets a spoonful as a treat too and he can’t inhale it fast enough!

  • Our collie with IBD loves this food

    By on

This was prescribed for our 6 year old collie recently diagnosed with IBD. He is doing well on it and seems to love it. He also likes the kibble and the HA treats. It is nice to see him eating with enthusiasm and gaining back some weight!

  • Dog with impa and Ibs limited options

    By on

My dog loves the canned food. Unless he is on the prednisone for his flare ups it is hard to get him to eat the dry, even the chicken flavor, but he loves the can. I still give him limited amounts because I feel it’s important he should eat the dry as well. He is extremely happy with the canned food.
