Something Has Gone Rotten and Price is Out of This World

Something has changed in this food or they got a bad batch of rotten food. I have two bags I have ordered recently and my dog has refused to eat it. I thought it was her. She got so hungry she tried a few times and threw it up about 5 minutes later. After smelling the food it is rotten. I opened the new bag and the same smell right at opening. We threw both out and have switched to a new food. She is like a new dog. The price of this food is horrendous now. What is going on Royal Canine? We have left the brand and wont be back...

Less food, but more $

Extremely dissatisfied. Not only has the price dramatically increased but there are 5lbs less. This is insane. We have been buying this brand since my dog was a puppy, but now are forced to look elsewhere because this company can't be trusted.

Service

Anytime I've ordered from Chewy it's been an awesome experience, esp. since I never remember to order my dogs food until it's almost too late. Their speedy delivery service is very helpful to people like me that wait until the last minute. My dogs have never gone hungry! Thanks Chewy!

Last 3 bags have been Poor Quality/Taste Bad

My dog has been eating this food since she turned 15 months old. She’s nearly 4 now. She usually eats it enthusiastically when I’ve opened a new bag. But with the last 3 bags we got, she refused to eat it, even after we added lots of meat and broth on top. I have a poor sense of smell, but my brother said they didn’t smell good like they usually do. He said they smelled “sour” like “rotted meat”. Even our cat, who is extremely food motivated, hesitated to eat it. Chewy was extremely gracious and gave us refunds for the first 2 bags, and I will be contacting them soon to get another refund on the most recent bag. I am also planning to contact Royal Canin and ask what’s up. I don’t know what is happening but it seems like the quality has dropped. I fed my dog this food for the past 3 years because I’d heard that Royal Canin was the most palatable out of the WSAVA brands (Hills/Purina Pro Plan/Royal Canin). But now it looks like time to switch brands.

Less Food for More Money

I’ve been using RC for years but after this last round of increasing the price while reducing the bag size, I’m done with them. They were already the most expensive food on the market—I’ll be buying Hills Science Diet from now on.

Good but overpriced

If you are looking for a good quality dog food this is an option. Although, It is getting obscenely overpriced. Besides jacking the price up about $10-15 dollars a bag (now over $100 dollars/bag) they just downsized what you get from a 35 pound bag to a 30 pound bag. As if people don't notice the double hit to their wallet. Might switch to Purina Pro Plan. You still get a good quality dog food for about the same price per bag. The savings comes in that you get a 50 pound bag with Purina.

bag size down , price way up

My Bernese loves this food but between the price shooting way up and now the bag dropping 5lbs I will be looking elsewhere. Shame

Great food

This food was recommended by my uncle who is a dog trainer. We used the puppy food of this kind til she was 1 1/2 and now we are on her adult food. We follow the guidelines for a less active dog and she is right on a healthy weight. She also grew bigger than her parents in height and over all size. She is a beautiful healthy dog with gorgeous hair that our vet even compliments her on. When you give you dog good healthy food you have a good healthy dog.

Excellent quality

My three years old canine has been eating this food for over a year. Her vet finds her healthy and in great condition during her three annual check ups. She is strong and very active. She had a very sensitive stomach while she was a puppy and I thought that she would stayed with that special food for life. However her condition improved in a few months and the transition to this food worked perfectly. I am very happy with the brand and its properties.
