About Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Health For Cats

Acute or chronic? If your Veterinarian thinks your pet has a gastrointestinal issue, they may classify it as acute or chronic. Acute conditions appear suddenly and deteriorate rapidly. Chronic conditions develop over time and may worsen gradually.

Worried About Your Cat’s Digestion?

Your cat’s gastrointestinal (GI) system helps support the rest of the body by properly digesting food and making sure to extract the nutrients needed for overall health. Your veterinarian is the expert on your cat, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best gastrointestinal health solutions and management options for your pet.

Know Your Cat’s GI System

  1. Mouth: where ingestion of hair and formation of hairballs can occur, due to frequent grooming.
  2. Stomach: the first part of the GI tract, where inflamation may lead to vomitting.
  3. Small Intestine and Pancreas: where the small intestine is responsible for absorption of nutrients within the diet and the pancreas aids in digestion.
  4. Large Colon (Tranverse): which is responsible for forming stool.
  5. Large Colon (Descending): which is responsible for forming stool; any alteration to this process may lead to constipation or diarrhea.
  6. Rectum: where stool leaves the body

How Nutrition Can Help

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin GI formula that is

Rich in nutrients and easily digestible

Balanced for good digestion, with a blend of fibers and prebiotics to support digestive health

Highly palatable to encourage eating, even when appetite is decreased due to gastrointestinal upset

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Rescue kitty needed this food for a couple months to help ease the bombardment on her system due to the weeks of medications she needed. She bounced back to life with enthusiasm and vigor! I noticed improvement within a day of her eating this formula. We are leaps and bounds from where we started! This is good food for sensitive belly issues.

Our 12 year old very petite girl is a most picky eater. After some dental surgery in January 2024 they gave her a few tsps of this food when she woke up, as it was what they had open. This is now her preferred canned food at least every other day. I have tried so many other canned foods and she lets me know they are a no go. I appreciated the sale and will try the auto ship.
