Worried About Your Dog’s Skin Health?

Skin health concerns are common and can appear anywhere on your dog’s body. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best solutions for your pet. This specialized expertise is why Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop formulas that support skin health.

Common Causes of Skin Health Concerns

Environmental Sensitivities

Pollen, plants and dust are environmental factors that can trigger an immune response in some dogs.

Food Sensitivities

Your veterinarian may recommend a diet elimination trial to help determine if your pet has a sensitivity to certain proteins in his current diet.

Parasites

Your dog can pick up external parasites such as mites, fleas, ticks and lice from contaminated sources, both indoors and out

Infection

Puppies, older dogs, and dogs that have recently been ill may be more susceptible to bacterial infections that can lead to skin health concerns.

How Can Nutrition Help?

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin Dermatology formula for your dog. These special formulations can:

Support digestive health by regulating movement through the GI tract and supporting balanced digestive flora

Support the skin’s natural protective barrier

Aid cellular health with a complex blend of antioxidants.

Promote healthy skin and coat by providing long chain omega-3 fatty acids in the diet

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Ever since she started this diet, we have seen less episodes of her dealing with profound stomach pain, and pancreatitis. In fact, I don’t think she’s shown any kind of real signs of pancreatitis at all whereas it felt like it was at least a couple of times a year where she was showing signs. I’m thankful for this diet and how it’s helped her.

When we adopted Fig, she had gland issues for months that just got worse and worse. Our vet suggested that it may not be a fiber issue, but an allergy issue so we put her on this specific version of the hydrolyzed RC diets because the moderate calorie was important to us, as Fig is spayed and she is more susceptible to weight gain. This has been perfect! No gland issues anymore, her stool is perfect and her lethal gas clouds are nonexistent. There are several factors we have seen within the two months of being on this diet (along with the treats and the wet food) where we can confirm its doing her so much better. We almost don't even want to reintroduce proteins to see if shes allergic because this food is doing so well for her. Wish it had the s/o index for urinary health like some other RC lines but for now this is definitely a 5 star rating. OH! Her fur is also soooo shiny!

My dog has IBD and this food has been fantastic for controlling his flare ups. His vomiting episodes have decreased a lot. He doesn’t seem to love this food- it’s likely pretty bland in comparison to other proteins, but I mix it with the canned version of the Royal Canin HP wet food and he loves it. Worth the money to help my dog live a happier life!
