About Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Health For Dogs

Royal Canin, incredible in every detail. Tailored nutritional solutions for gastrointestinal health.
Acute or chronic? If your Veterinarian thinks your pet has a gastrointestinal issue, they may classify it as acute or chronic. Acute conditions appear suddenly and deteriorate rapidly. Chronic conditions develop over time and may worsen gradually.

Worried About Your Dog’s Digestion?

Your dog’s gastrointestinal (GI) system helps support the rest of the body by properly digesting food and making sure to extract the nutrients needed for overall health. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best gastrointestinal health solutions and management options for your pet.

Know Your Dog’s GI System

  1. Stomach: the first part of the GI tract, where inflamation may lead to vomitting.
  2. Small Intestine and Pancreas: where the small intestine is responsible for absorption of nutrients within the diet and the pancreas aids in digestion; inflamation of the pancreas may be cause by a high fat diet or treats.
  3. Large Colon (Tranverse): which is responsible for forming stool.
  4. Large Colon (Descending): which is responsible for forming stool; any alteration to this process may lead to constipation or diarrhea.
  5. Rectum: where stool leaves the body

How Nutrition Can Help

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin GI formula that is

Easily digestible to help reduce the load on the gastrointestinal tract

Formulated with omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, and DHA to aid digestive health and antioxidants to support a healthy immune system

Highly palatable to encourage eating, even when appetite is decreased due to gastrointestinal upset

Balanced for good digestion, with a blend of fibers and prebiotics to support digestive health

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

My Berner enjoys it

How large are the pieces of food? My dog needs tiny bite-size pieces due to missing some teeth and this doesn’t show a picture or describe the size of it at all

I have included a picture of the kibble below for reference.

Where it Royal Canin made?

Answer by ChewyAug 03, 2020
This food is made in Royal Canin's manufacturing facilities in Missouri and South Dakota. All of Royal Canin's ingredients are sourced based on whether they meet their quality and food safety demands rather than with a sole focus on country of origin. Due to the heavy attention to the safety of their products, they don't release specific sourcing information as it could change from batch to batch based on whether a supplier is meeting their quality and safety standards.

This is not a Chewy issue. This bag of food caused my dogs to have terrible diarrhea. My holidays were a real mess before I realized it was the food. I have since received a new shipment & my dogs are getting back to normal. My female spent a few nights howling in some kind of pain. It was awful. I need to let Royal Canin know about this & am wondering if anyone else had this problem with this batch. I threw the bag away so I don’t have any production info. I do have some of the food left & am considering if I should send it to them to be analyzed. Bad experience for sure.

Someone posted about a bad batch of food very recently. We had the same issue! Our dog has had diarrhea for 2 weeks. What a mess! Poor thing. We went to our vet after bland diet wasn't working. The vet said to contact Chewy bc she believes it's a bad bag of food. She checked him over well. She advised that we should ask for a replacement. He is still suffering as of today! Please send us a new bag.

Our little terrier chihuahua mix was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis scaring my wife and I as she was so sick for several days in vet. We had to put her on a special diet, our vet sold Hills so that’s what we went with. Kona didn’t like it and ate very little of it. We tried Royal Canine after reading other reviews of owners with dogs having pancreatitis and gave it a shot, she loves it! The treats as well, although the soft food she eats but not her fave as she prefers what we call her cereal-the dry food. Kona has done so well on this food we can’t say enough good things about it. We’ve got this on auto ship now for sure.

Our dog has IBD and his vet put him on this food to help regulate his gut. We initially tried another brand of low fat food and he didn’t care for it and it was a struggle to get him to eat. He LOVES the Royal Canin. We mix it with a little low fat wet food and heat it in the microwave and he’s excited to eat again. It has helped his gut health significantly.

The delivery person left the box down on the street where anybody could have grabbed it and put it in their car. 130.00 bag of food should be up on my porch. I hate to complain because I get two shipments every month and I know that bag of dog food is heavy, but if that’s the reason, knock on the door and ask for help don’t leave it down the hill on the road.

Fetch Points with auto shipping

I am unable to claim Fetch points because when Chewey emails me the “receipt” it doesn’t have the price of the item or the total. So, therefore, no price-no points

I am unable to claim Fetch points because when Chewey emails me the “receipt” it doesn’t have the price of the item or the total. So, therefore, no price-no points. The only way to get points is to allow Fetch to access my email to read my receipts. I need this auto ship to be emailed to me as a receipt. How difficult would this be? Am I asking too much? I think not. If it happens again I will contact BBB right after I cancel all of our auto ship orders forever. I have 4 dogs and a cat. We spend a lot of money on Chewy.

The combo of all three items seems to work

Vet prescribed because our dog has stomach sensitivity. Our dog seems to enjoy it. But if he had a choice between this & human food, he would enjoy human food better
