  • Occupies my puppy

This is a wonderful, well-made ball. It's fun to chew, durable, bounces well. As a bonus, it also dispenses treats! I actually feed my lab puppy his meals from this ball (with a few small treats thrown in sometimes), especially if I am not going to be home so that it can keep him occupied for a while. It usually takes him about an hour to eat a cup of kibble from this ball (he usually taps out before he gets all the kibbles which is surprising because he is always hungry). If I fed him his meal in a regular bowl, it would be gone in less than 20 seconds. This way, he's pretty tired after his meal and doesn't have so much restless energy. However, I've trained my 4-year old human to do it. Little humans are just like little pups, you've got to keep them occupied or they'll make mischief ;) … more

  • Good, but some thoughts...

So far, my boy corgi is loving this ball! I've fed a few of his meals in it already, and he pushes the ball around the living room as a piece or three fall out. I tried to also feed my girl corgi her meal in this ball (different food with bigger pieces of kibble), and she struggled, didn't get any pieces, and gave up. Now, he's trying to work his magic on it. It seems like this won't be an option for feeding her since her kibble is larger round pieces, and it would've been better if his kibble didn't so easily fall out. I've read a review where it says it takes their dog an hour to eat his meal out of the ball; it takes my pup five minutes. As for the ball itself, I wish the holes were adjustable or were different for each ball size. I like the bright green color, but I would've loved different color options. Also, the material the ball is made from loves to pick up all sorts of hair and fur as it gets rolled around on the carpet -- gross! I wish the ball's material was different so it wouldn't pick up those particles and it would remain clean and smooth. … more

  • Perfect Treat Dispensing Ball Even for Heavy Chewers

    By on

I'm skeptical of toys' longevity when faced with heavy chewers. But this one has withstood the challenge of my 3 year old Border mix & 1 year old Coonhound for 3 months without sign of deterioration. They love it. So, I bought a second. Then, a 3rd as a Christmas gift to a friend's Great Dane mix; her Shitzu stole it. So, I ordered yet another. They all love them as they can still get a good bouncy toy to chase around even after the treats are gone. Side note: It can be a bit tricky to get the hang of loading them as the holes are a bit awkward at first. I find that dry dog food and broken up biscuits work best.

  • Glad I ordered this

Our 4 mth old terrier mix is obsessed with food. He scarfs his meals down in mere seconds. We bought a special food dish that slows him down a tiny bit. We then decided to try this ball to try and slow him down even more. It works ok for us. He knocks the ball around like a mad dog to get the kibble out. One issue I have with the ball is the kibble gets stuck. However, we use Purina One puppy food. The dried chicken pieces will not come out. I now pick out those chicken pieces and feed them to our dog separately. I am happy with this purchase.

  • Not for Determined Chewers

    By on

I found the Starmark Treat Dispensing Chew Ball Dog Toy on several websites recommending interactive toys that are "actually indestructible." Unfortunately, my doggo was less interested in the puzzle, and more interested in sitting down with this ball to chew on the little nibs that are supposed to hold the treats inside. He managed to rip several off after a few minutes, so I tried cutting off those little pieces, but then his treats just fell right out of the ball without any kind of challenge. I'm certain that if I'd let him keep the toy, the main body of the ball would have been destroyed within 15 minutes as well. I'll have to keep looking for really tough toys for my destructo dog!

  • Easily destroyed

    By on

My puppy was so excited when I gave this to her! She loved trying to get the treats out so much that she ripped huge chunks out of it in a matter of minutes. I got it away from her before she did too much damage. The next time I thought I better teach her how to use it correctly (roll the treats out). She did great with that...then when the treats were gone she completely tore it apart (took just a few seconds to finish it off).

Bought this for my 4 month old gsg pup based on the reviews. It has been a hit in our home. He loves this ball and loves that it bounces and that is one of his tricks he does. He makes it bounce in order to get our attention because it’s play time. Or if he wants to amuse himself then he will pick it up and start making it bounce around the house so he can chase it.

  • the Best Dispensing Ball

    By on

Our dog Sophie loves her dispensing ball. She will bring it to us when it is empty so we can put her treats in it. She does not get tired of trying new ways to get the treats out. From bouncing it to rolling it around the den. We have had it a while now and it is holding up well. Sophie is not a chewer so you might want to take that into consideration .

  • Great Slow Food Dispenser!

    By on

These are great to keep “busy” dogs with something to do as well as slowly dispenses food for the overzealous eater! It lets out just enough to keep my Rottie puppy occupied, but not destroy it in frustration. I use a fairly small kibble in them. I think this could be pretty easily destroyed by an aggressive chewer if the food wasn’t coming out quickly enough.

  • Favorite treat dispensing ball

    By on

I have a malinois/boxer mix who is extremely high energy and loves to chew. She destroys most chew toys but this one is holding up perfectly. She isn’t very interested in the Kong version of these I’m not sure if it’s a texture thing- either way she just prefers this ball over any other dispensing toy I’ve tried. It keeps her busy and distracted and quiet which makes me happy. I fill it with some of her kibble plus a mix of small treats and she gets so excited and rolls it around the living room and chews on it for hours. Definitely recommend to help with boredom and keep dogs entertained, very impressed that it has held up to her constant chewing.
