My betta, shrimp, and snails seem to really enjoy these. They are good for water conditioning and I'm told have mild antibacterial properties. Will definitely buy again.
I used some of these leaves in my goldfish tank to add tannins when I noticed some of my goldfish showing signs of fin rot. It cleared up all the fin rot within 2 weeks. The leaves last about 2-3 months before disintegrating. There are ten large leaves in the package, each about as big as my whole hand, including fingers. I will be making this a part of my regular tank maintenance. They did not lower the pH too much for the goldfish. (I tested before and after.)
Something's changed in this product. When I used to buy them, they were much bigger, changed the color of the tank faster, helped my axolotls faster, and now, the leaves are like a third of the size, need to soak for over a week to start helping, and the coloration is different too. They have like a red residue or hue to them. The last 2 times I ordered them, they've been like this. How do I get the previous quality again?
These leaves really keep the aquarium water clean. Love using them.
The other reviews are correct- these are HUGE. I had purchased a pack of 3 tiny little 3-inch leaves from one of the "brick and mortar" competitor chains for nearly the same price. These are huge, you get many more leaves, and they seem better quality too? I was also pleasantly surprised that they arrived completely unharmed in a box with two 5lb bags of cat food. Thank you to whoever packed the box snuggly enough that the cat food didn't slide around in transit and crush my leaves.
My fish and invertebrates love these. They add great tannins as they decompose and break down while also adding a food source and natural look to the aquarium. They were also bigger than expected which is an added bonus.
I got these coz I heard shrimp love to pick off the biological stuff and they have been. I have 4 fish tanks all with shrimp . I guess it's a type of food too I'm happy my ghost shrimp are happy as they are pets not food for other fish and they live in harmony with all
Each leaf is bigger than my hand! A pack lasted me a good while in my 5gal tank. WELL worth the cost considering the price of a bottle of almond leaf extract or a bag of the tiny leaves they sell in stores.
I've been keeping fish as a hobby for over 45 years. I just love this product. It keeps the diseases away and the fish love them.(sailfin mollies, koi swordtails, guppies) and it's a great hiding place for the fry. I keep all fry in the tank with the adults and they survive without a problem.
Totally misleading, $9 for 10 medium size leaves. The description said 1 lb. It was less than 1 oz. that with the packaging. Nowhere does it say 10 leaves. I would not recommend this or purchase again.
