How many small almond leaves should I put in my ten gallon aquarium?

Answer by ChewyMay 10, 2022
It is recommended to use only 1 leaf for a 10 gallon tank.

What’s the approximate size of the leaves?

Answer by ChewyApr 05, 2022
These Catappa leaves are a natural item. The size ranges around 2 inches. Since it's a natural item, the size may vary.

do the Betta eat these?

Answer by ChewyNov 30, 2023
This product is mainly for improving the ambiance of aquatic tanks suitable for thriving aquatic pets. However, it also serves as a natural food source for aquatic pets. If you have breeding fish, Mini Catappa leaves also serve to provide fish with a secure place to anchor their eggs. These fish create bubble nests and use this floating leaf to create them.

We bought these to split between my daughters small community and betta tank (a 29 gallon) and my own smaller betta tank (5 gallon). Absolutely love them! Add great tannins into the water and made the color the lovely amber brown we wanted, so healthy for the fish and looks natural for us! And the bettas especially look happier.

Not as advertising or expected.

These are supposed to add tannins to aquarium water. They've added absolutely nothing, and caused an ammonia spike.

They add a nice look and ambiance to my tanks, but they don’t offer much else. I like how it’s leaf littler instead of a giant almond leaf, but if you’re looking for the benefits of tannins on a larger scale, I’d go with the standard Indian Almond Leaves over this leaf litter, but I do like the look this product gives an aquarium!

they arrived in perfect condition, and I got a good amount for the price. Boil a handful of leaves in a bit of water until they turn dark brown. Let the water cool, then add the leaves to your aquarium. You can also add some or all of the tea-colored water based on whether you want a blackwater & naturalistic stream look. My yoyo loaches love the leaves, and since the leaves provide hiding spots, the yoyo loaches spend more time being cute instead of hiding. Over time, the leaves will turn dark brown and start to decay, so you'll need to add more periodically.
