how good is the storage time? is there an expiration date?

These pellets have an 8 month shelf life. On the bottom of the package, there will be a blue label with a Julian code for the expiration date. For example, if the label says 32722 that would mean the expiration date is the 327th day of the year (November 23rd) and the 22 is for the year 2022.

why dose it have peices of corn in it

Picky piggies love Sweet Meadow!

We have a lot of piggies-5, and they prefer this brand over the Oxbow pellets. Nutritionally the pellets are on par with oxbow. No extra mix ins of filler junk like

We have a lot of piggies-5, and they prefer this brand over the Oxbow pellets. Nutritionally the pellets are on par with oxbow. No extra mix ins of filler junk like some brands, just straight pellets and a great price. We have been using this brand for years, and the proof is in the pigs. There are several pigs over age 5...this pellet and good timothy hay and daily fresh veggies really does help pigs have a long, happy healthy life.

I alway purchased my guinea pigs food in bulk. I reviewed the ingredients and the nutritional information. They meet my requirements so I purchased. The pellets are bigger than what my pigs are used to. They are it for the first few days then refused to eat any more of it. I tried mixing in veggies with it but they still refused to eat it. I ended up donating it. I wouldn’t purchase again.

I buy this product frequently for my guinea pigs and am usually very happy. This time the one that shipped arrived open and spilled inside the shipping box. I usually have to cut the top of the bag to open it. It appears that an open, unsealed bag was chosen to ship to me. When I untaped the shipping box the feed spilled all over the floor making it unusable. I was informed that a replacement can take up to 5 days. I needed it today. I thought I had a new bag ready to go.

My boys are very spoiled and their favorite pellet is Small Pet Select, which is also sold here on Chewy.com. My only problem with it is the price. I've tried Oxbow, Kaytee, etc, and ended up wasting my money because they would snub their noses at them, even when I mixed them they would only pick out the SPS....until I found Sweet Meadow. Finally, a reasonably priced pellet that I can mix with SPS, my boys love it, I save money, and I can get both at Chewy. Winner, Winner, guinea pig dinner!!
