My pup got cataract surgery, and with dry eyes from diabetes, she developed ulcer in both eyes. One healed on its own, but the other got infected. Her ophthalmologist prescribed this ointment and along with other eye medication, and the infected ulcer is healing nicely. This medication is definitely cheaper on Chewy then at the vet.

Good product for eye infection

I used only briefly because Gabby was also in stage 4 renal failure and passed away almost immediately after I began using this medication.

Went online to order. Now, you need a prescription. Have ordered it for years. My first vet would not approve for a product they sell in their office. Tried the Chewy pharmacy, where they contact your vet, with my second vet. It took a long time for Chewy to contact them or them to contact Chewy back and then ship, which defeated the purpose of being timely and convenient. I don't think the vet really wanted to do it because he carries it. I was diagnosed with cancer this year. So, between my doc visits, tests, and treatments and real vet visits, convenience is everything. I don't know who made this decision and why but from the reviews I've read a lot of animals are going to suffer.

Works but poor design

The cream works well to address the issue, but the tube is very poorly designed. Even without touching it, the tube seems to squeeze itself and wastes the medicine

I love the product but...What they are doing is terrible!

I take care of ferrel cats! And I mean, I take care of them! I have a friend who works at Griffin Pond who helps by getting them spade. and their shots! (Thank God,)

I take care of ferrel cats! And I mean, I take care of them! I have a friend who works at Griffin Pond who helps by getting them spade. and their shots! (Thank God,) as I have 2 English Springer Spaniels, so I can't bring them inside, but they have beautiful houses, toys, food, fresh water etc. I find most homes. Well the one here in the picture you would never think had a terrible eye infection. Swollen puss filled , eyes shut and look how beautiful he looks today as I bought this ointment here! Now I have 4 kittens and 2 have the same eyes! i could cry when I look at them. The 2 dogs alone cost me a fortune. So I can't afford to bring these poor souls to the doctors. NOW! we need a prescription. But guess what? There is a God! I went to the Manufacturer's site to complain, and guess what? There was a big article there that their stocks have plummeted!! Good! I've never been so happy!

Been buying and using the Terramycin Ophthalmic ointment for YEARS on a multitude of cats feral and pets that present with eye irritation, red ,weepy or purulent exudate with great success and no after effects and NO VET RX required .What changed? Is Chewy working in league with a Vet lobby? Is it the gov tightening up medication dispensing (meanwhile this is not habit forming nor is the amount of antibiotic enough to cause changes in normal bacteria flora ). The price quadruple is bad enough but the RX requirement is a ripoff as well.Very disappointed . The result will be many feral cats in my area running around with horrible eye infections .While my pets benefit from a good vet it would be a needless and pricey trip for a mild eye issue that I have successfully treated. FOR YEARS. This is ridiculous .

Didn’t help

This stuff hasn’t done anything for my cat’s eye. If it has, I can’t tell. Will be taking her to a different vet for another evaluation.

My prescription was delivered on a hot day. It was around 92. Product was left out in the direct sun where it sat for hours. It is supposed to be kept cooler, contents were not to the touch when I opened it. I contacted the customer support and was transfered about 4 times before being disconnected. I went back to customer support chat the next day and did speak with a pharmacist. Best they offered was to ship it again. No icepack in the middle of summer. They wouldnt say whether or not the heat could have damaged the product. Very disappointed. I'll use a different supplier like Jeffers who uses ice packs when shipping temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals.
