Drontal Tablets for Cats & Kittens, 2-16 lbs, 1 Tablet

These are tablets that are available by prescription. They are used to remove tapeworms, hookworms and large roundworms in cats and kittens.

Give Drontal orally directly by mouth or crumbled and mixed with a small amount of food. Use only as directed by your veterinarian. If you give tablet(s) with food, monitor your cat closely to make sure he/she eats all of the food. Always call your veterinarian if you have difficulty giving this medication correctly.

Praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate are the active ingredients in Drontal. The active ingredients in this medication cause spasms, paralysis and eventual death of susceptible parasites. The parasite is either destroyed entirely or passed through your pets feces.

Tapeworms, hookworms and roundworms in the intestinal tract of cats and kittens should be eliminated but it may take several days of treatment to see optimal results. Drontal will kill the adult worms that are present but this medication will not prevent reinfection.
