The Tetrafauna Decorative ReptoFilter for Frogs, Newts & Turtles provides effective filtration for your tank and adds visual appeal at the same time. The rock-like structure hides a powerful filter that works in any aquarium up to 55 gallons. This three-stage Whisper filtration system helps keep the water crystal clear using medium ReptoFilter cartridges. Organic debris is trapped in the mesh covering of the cartridge, while the activated carbon absorbs odors and discoloration. As the filtered water flows over the rocks and back into the tank, it creates a soothing waterfall. Frogs, newts and turtles will all enjoy climbing to the top, which serves as a high basking area and also prevents animals from entering the filtration area.

HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS: Special care should be taken to avoid possible electric shock, since water is employed in the use of aquarium equipment. If the ReptoFilter appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug it from the power source. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. Unplug the appliance if there is water on parts not intended to get wet. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Always unplug the appliance from an outlet when it is not in use. Also, unplug it before cleaning, and prior to disconnecting or attaching parts. Never yank the cord to pull the plug from the outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect. Do not use an appliance for anything other than its intended use. Do not use attachments that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer; they may cause an unsafe condition. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing. If an extension cord is necessary, use a cord with a rating that matches or exceeds the rating of the appliance. A cord rated for fewer amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Arrange the cord so that it will not trip anybody, and that it will not be pulled in any way. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. To avoid injury, do not touch moving parts. Supervise children closely when they are near or using the appliance.
At first it was working pretty fine , but then my turtles water after I would put new water in would become dirty again from him good in like 2 days and it’s a filter it’s supposed to filter all of that out and keep the water purified and clean but it stopped doing that. It also attracts gnats like crazy ! I had too put my turtle in a alternate cage until I get them all out , definitely disappointed
I wasn't very happy with this. Grew mold inside of it and was very hard to clean when i tried to clean it. Doesn't circulate the water well. And doesn't pull in the debris and waste in the small holes to be filtered because the suction is not strong enough.
I ADORE these filters. I actually have 1 in BOTH of my turtle tanks. They were ALOT bigger than I expected them to be. They each take 2 filters at a time. Not only does this filter do a GREAT job cleaning the water in my tanks, but my turtles LOVE to climb on them, and use them to bask on. I would DEF recommend these filters!!
Got this for my frogs when I first set up their tank in Feb 2017 (it's half land, half water). It's not Feb 2022 and this thing hasn't gone out on my ONCE, I honestly think it's the only thing I bought that hasn't broken apart from the tank. It's a nice little workhorse, and the replacement filters are affordable. Keeps their water squeaky clean
So I originally bought this for my 55 gallon turtle tank. I only filled it up to the maximum or somewhere in between and had a different filter on the other side as well to balance it out. It worked great for the first few weeks and then my tank would stay dirty even after cleaning or changing the filters and cleaning out the entire thing itself. I didn’t even have this for 4 months and I found out it later developed a hole. The material that it’s made of wasnt very thick and broke off easily. Keep in mind I do water changes every Monday and clean the gravel. The picture with the water groggy happened within the last week of me having this filter. Eventually we had to take this filter out and put in the fish tank filter that the tank came with and added more water to meet the water line and everything got clear again.
I CHOSE THIS FOR IT'S BEAUTY AND IMAGINED IT BEING A GOOD FILTER ALSO, BUT NOT SO, THE WATER FALL IS BORING AND THE FILTER IS A JOKE BUT AGAIN IT IS PRETTY THAT'S ALL.
Glad I didn't read the reviews before I purchased. I have been using this filter almost a year and it has not missed a beat. I have it on a stand in a 55 gallon tank for my red eared slider, Herman. He sleeps under the water fall. I have to change the filters every 2 weeks but that shows me it definitely is working. It does make an annoying sound when the water gets low but that's its only default. It works great for us and is reasonably priced! I would purchase it again.
I’m using this to filter water for my crocodile skinks. It has great flow and is keeping their water clean and moving. Love it!
I bought this for my turtle in a 40 gallon tank. Less than 20 gallons of water. Not only is it difficult to clean and it would require cleaning every other day to keep the gunk from accumulating, the water flow is awful and lid comes off easily by the turtle climbing on it. It is an over priced piece of junk.
This filter does a good job, looks natural and actually enhances your aquatic environment. I like the waterfall feature! I did have an issue with the filter arriving broken multiple times but customer service was extremely kind and helpful in replacing it free of charge! I finally got an undamaged unit. I do not believe it was due to any fault of Chewy's that they arrived damaged. Packing was superb!
