Tetrafauna Decorative ReptoFilter for Frogs, Newts & Turtles, 55-gal
Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again.
The Tetrafauna Decorative ReptoFilter for Frogs, Newts & Turtles provides effective filtration for your tank and adds visual appeal at the same time. The rock-like structure hides a powerful filter that works in any aquarium up to 55 gallons. This three-stage Whisper filtration system helps keep the water crystal clear using medium ReptoFilter cartridges. Organic debris is trapped in the mesh covering of the cartridge, while the activated carbon absorbs odors and discoloration. As the filtered water flows over the rocks and back into the tank, it creates a soothing waterfall. Frogs, newts and turtles will all enjoy climbing to the top, which serves as a high basking area and also prevents animals from entering the filtration area.

Precautions
HAZARDS TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS: Special care should be taken to avoid possible electric shock, since water is employed in the use of aquarium equipment. If the ReptoFilter appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug it from the power source. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. Unplug the appliance if there is water on parts not intended to get wet. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Always unplug the appliance from an outlet when it is not in use. Also, unplug it before cleaning, and prior to disconnecting or attaching parts. Never yank the cord to pull the plug from the outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect. Do not use an appliance for anything other than its intended use. Do not use attachments that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer; they may cause an unsafe condition. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing. If an extension cord is necessary, use a cord with a rating that matches or exceeds the rating of the appliance. A cord rated for fewer amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Arrange the cord so that it will not trip anybody, and that it will not be pulled in any way. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. To avoid injury, do not touch moving parts. Supervise children closely when they are near or using the appliance.

- Press outflow tube into pump discharge opening. Lubricate tube and adapters with water to ease tube assembly to pump.
- Slide O-ring over Elbow Fitting, keeping it approximately 1/4 inches from the end of the Elbow Fitting opening.
- Place assembled pump on the bottom of the Decorative ReptoFilter. Slide the overflow tube with O-ring into groove at top of the filter front. Slide down until O-ring sits at bottom of groove to form a watertight seal. Route pump cord through small notch at rear of filter top.
- Rinse cartridge filters under cold tap water to remove any carbon dust.
- Insert filter cartridges into slots on either side of pump and slide all the way down until seated on bottom.
- Place lid on filter.
- Place filter unit in corner of tank and fill until water level is between minimum and maximum line (levels are indicated on side of filter). Use a dechlorinator every time water is added to the tank. The ReptoFilters has intake holes close to the base of the unit. In order to prevent small animals from being sucked into the holes, it is recommended to add gravel to cover the holes.
- Plug in filter and create a drip loop.

Excellent purchase
By excellent1 on Dec 10, 2020
I honestly loved it, how ever I had to purchased two because I noticed that one was not enough to filter all the water in the tank. I think the price was reasonable

my little turtles
By brenda615 on Jan 10, 2021
I thought at first the filter wasn't going to work because I woke and my turtles tank was foggy but I forgot to add water to the line so it actually cleared all of the fog. My turtles love it

Great filter and rock for turtle
By Margot on Nov 25, 2020
I absolutely love this filter. I was a little skeptical at first but it works great. The tanks stays crystal clear and our turtle, Raph, loves sitting on top of the rock and basking in the "sun." The waterfall sound is soothing at night as well. Highly recommended.

Easy to setup
By vlee on Nov 1, 2020
Easy to setup in the turtle aquarium. Filter is quiet and does not disturb the turtle with its daily routine. Have not tried to clean it yet but looks somewhat straightforward.

Terrible filter
By MDRN on Oct 17, 2020
This filter runs so incredibly slow! Not to mention, we had issues with fruit flies and drain flies. We couldn’t figure out where they were coming from until we cleaned the filter. There were numerous larvae inside of the filter. It runs so slow that it was able to cultivate a fruit fly ecosystem!

Awesome for the turtles. The tank has stayed clear for a month now. Love it and as they grow they are starting to climb on it.
