How much dust gets tracked onto floor?

Answer by KarmenJan 17, 2026
This is amazing! I have my litter box in the bathroom under a window. The litter I have been using for many years, has always left dust on the window sill on the back of the commode and on the lip of the shower. When I started to use this litter. I cleaned off everything to compare. I’ve been using it now for two weeks and there is no dust anywhere around it. This litter is in tiny round balls with no sharp edges, so it does not stick between the toes of the girls as they climb out of the their litter box. It is still clumping litter, so the litter box is still very easy to clean out. I have an air purifier by the litter box and since I’ve changed litter the filter only needs to be blown out once a month and even then there is not much in it. I am very happy with this litter, and I figure the only reason you’re reading this review is because you’re unhappy with your litter for some reason, so give this a try.

Does this litter contain sodium bentonite? Is it dust free

Answer by ChewyJan 18, 2021
This litter consists of Sodium Bentonite (also known as Bentonite) clay and Montmorillonite clay. This litter formula is 99.9% dust-free, so there are no messes or extra clean-up when filling the litter box.

We were blessed with two Bombay kittens! However, Bombay kittens come with some big Bombay problems. They have teeny tiny noses and litter dust in them and give them pneumonia. We have put up a humidifier to help them, but the best thing that has happened And I wish it had happened sooner as we found out about a new kitty litter. There is zero dust in this kitty litter, and the cats have no problem changing litters with this. I was really worried about that! have a humidifier on in the kitty litter room along with a dust reducer and they both run 24 seven to keep our babies healthy. But I think we may be able to shut the dust reducer down there is no dust in this litter. I really suggest you give it a try. Usually, I don’t suggest anyone give something a try. I just tell people how we have enjoyed it or not enjoyed it. But this litteris amazing!

These are so heavy and hard to deal with coming in a two pack like they are, BUT it's a great deal. My allergies love that they are unscented, and they aren't AS heavy as other types. They do well in our automatic box, and my cats don't fuss about the litter. Sometimes it doesn't clump as much as I would like, as some of the other ones do, but it works well enough. I don't have this box in a public space so it doesn't stink up my whole house, but when the box tray on my automatic box gets full, this litter doesn't disguise the odor....so you definitely need to be handling the litter regularly. Idk that I would use it in a non automatic box unless you were scooping super regularly. But it works for us, and it doesn't have fragrance to make us sick, and that is our why here.

It comes in 35 lb pail, no need to be placed in boxes. Whoever boxed it up placed a pail with a busted lid in the box and sealed it. When it arrived the box was undamaged, but litter was leaking out of all the seams on th box. When opened, the pail was busted. Since the box it was in was undamaged, but pail was busted, common sense tells me the person who packed the pail deliberately pack a damaged item on purpose. I will NOT be ordering from Chewy ever again. And immediately after calling to cancel my auto ship of the order, my debit card on file was hacked. Chewy was the only place it had been used in a week, so I know it had to have happened with the person who cancelled my order.

Idk how people swear by this

This litter is so bad for your cat, especially for older cats. It’s extremely dusty and tracks everywhere and the dust gets stuck inside their fur and in their lungs. This made my cats fur super dry and he wouldn’t stop sneezing for weeks. This whole brand is not as amazing as people make it out to be honestly. Everytime I’ve ever used this as a back up plan because my original preference isn’t available, there’s always a problem. I’m only giving it 2 stars because it’s great at clumping and it doesn’t really smell. Not worth it. Do some research and find something better. Really don’t understand how this brand even has 4.5 stars. Blows my mind.

I have been using Arm & Hammer Clumping Cat litter for our PetSafe self-cleaning litter box for several years. A&H always seems to leave something hard-stuck to the bottom of the pan that I need to routinely dislodge so that the tines of the box can move it to the bin. The litter box is shared by our two small-ish cats. With the addition of a 3rd indoor cat to the household, I purchased a second PetSafe litter box (LOVE THESE!), and opted for the Tidy Cat clumping clay litter. Wow! It just works! #3 cat is a BIG cat that leave big movements. Nothing is stuck to the bottom of the tray; everything was in the catch bin! Tidy Cat for the win! My only regret was I should have searched more for a scented version of the litter - there is still a... pungent... aroma. For the next order!

I have purchased this litter for my cats for years. Unscented. Clumps. Kind of messy when it gets on their paws but does the trick. Except this time I decided to order from Chewy and buy the 2 pack of jugs. They arrived quickly but when I opened the box, both jugs lids were off and they had spilled into the packaging box. the additional problem is the packaging box had big openings in the top and bottom, so I ended up about 2 cups of litter all over my floor when trying to open up. I can’t imagine how this packaging made sense and how this can’t happen frequently. Love the litter, will not order this specific packaging again.

...and absorbs the urine that bypasses the wood pellets above, keeping the mess to a minimum. We use a "sifter" litterbox system. The top stainless steel box that fits inside the solid stainless steel box has slots in the flooring that allows the sawdust to fall to the solid box below. I cover the bottom of the solid box with a thin layer of the Tidy Cat clumping oder absorbing litter to keep the urine oder to a minimum. Due to respiratory issues, I found the best litter for my cat is the kiln dried pine pellets. Even though the pellets that are exposed to the urine turn into saw dust, the urine that escapes absorption and continues down to the level below can stink up the entire room. But the Tidy Cat clumping and oder absorbing litter, along with another product I sprinkle on top eliminates the oder quite nicely. This system works well because even though Orpheus loves to dig in the litterbox, he's unable to stir up any dust from the wood pellets. Then, the clay based litter below does its job without stirring up any dust and triggering an asthma attack. A win-win situation.

Poor packaging, temptation container shredded in transit.

I typically have broken litter bags, and I just accept it but, I am tired of the extra clean up. Sometimes you put temptations in cardboard, other times you don't

I typically have broken litter bags, and I just accept it but, I am tired of the extra clean up. Sometimes you put temptations in cardboard, other times you don't. Bags of litter are often split opened but I am tired of cleaning it up. Buying plastic containers was to see if order improved. I PREFER THE frisco brand and I ORDER 20 instead of 40 pounds because of the weight. i EVEN TRY ORDERING LITTER SEPARATELY AND YOU COMBINE THEM ON ME. Seems all the mail order things i buy are cutting corners on pakaging. Not just your company. I didnt get jugs, I got the pails.

FedEx was the delivery carrier and they delivered this entire order to the wrong address. They delivered it to a house on a completely different two blocks away from my house. I received a notification that the order had been delivered, but it was not on my porch. I happento be out walking my dogs and saw my order on a neighbor’s porch two blocks away. Thankfully, I saw it and was able to retrieve it as I would be very unhappy to have lost all the money on this order becauseit was delivered to the wrong address. Chewy might want to consider getting a different carrier that’s more reliable.

I love love this refill and so does our kitty. I wanted to make sure there were as little irritants or toxins in our apartment before we got her and this seemed like a decent choice. My families kitty at home uses this brand just a different one and has never had issues. The only thing is - it gets everywhere. It could honestly just be a her issue because of the dramatics but it still sucks lol
