Not worth the risk!
We had ordered this product in the past, and had no problems with it. As other reviews have mentioned, when we ordered again, the rolls we received were tiny (~ 1.5" diameter) and reeked of an ammonia- or urine-like odor (in the first bag we ordered, the rolls were probably about 3-4" diameter and had no odor whatsoever). We chucked the bags and thankfully Chewy gave us a refund, but we won't be ordering them again. This supplier clearly has serious quality control issues and I would not recommend you take the chance.
They're huge but safer as a result
We ha e a new adult dog who is about a year old. Not knowing him well we don't trust him not to choke or swallow bully sticks before we catch him. These are huge and take a long time to get to a small bit. We let him chew for about an hour a day on one of them and they last many days. Just want we needed to get through work from home days when we cannot supervise him and sdont want to over crate him.
Disappointing
My strong chewer LOVES beef cheeks and I love how long they last. I’ve ordered these previously and we got big, thick cheek rolls like what I typically see in other places. My most recent order is nothing like that. They’re thin and sad looking. I actually had to triple check to make sure I even ordered the right product because they were that different. I’ve never seen cheek rolls sold anywhere that look like what I got. I’m even a little hesitant to give them to her. Pretty disappointed in the inconsistency on these.
Absolutely the best for aggressive chewers!
So many good things to say about these. They seriously do last a long time. My dog is a very aggressive chewer and goes through other "long lasting" chews within minutes. But these truly are long lasting! Plus they aren't too hard so I'm not afraid she will break a tooth and there's no smell! And I love that these are natural and I don't have to worry about her ingesting nylon or other chemicals.
Likely processed with bleach
I wanted to try this product out because I heard good things about it. The description stated that the chews were only processed with food-grade hydrogen peroxide. However after I purchased I learned they may be processed with bleach. I asked Chewy in the questions section but they weren’t able to find an answer. I then emailed the company directly and they’ve ignored me. Leading me to believe these are processed with bleach. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my dog ingesting bleach.
Loosely rolled
These r not the same quality as previous cheek rolls. These r loosely rolled and my dog chewed through one in 90 minutes as opposed to the two days it took w the last order. I was unimpressed
Will not touch
The good news is I don't know what smell y'all are talking about. I don't smell anything in the bag or the treat itself. However, my dog will not touch these. At all. These look real processed and white unlike the other cheek rolls I had purchased. Will switch to another brand.
So much better than bully sticks
My dog loves these!! He is such an aggressive chewer. I would buy him bully sticks, the smell was atrocious, they were pretty expensive and he would eat them in less than an hour. I just got these in the mail today, he’s had one for 4 hours now and hasn’t even gotten halfway through it! And best part, NO SMELL!
MUST HAVE!
These are a lot larger then I expected. My lab absolutely loves them! They last a while and they don’t hurt her sensitive stomach. I got these as an alternative to bully sticks. Another perk is they have no smell! I can definitely say I’ll be getting these from now on.
Disappointing cheek rolls
These cheek rolls were described as 8-10 inches long. They measure barely 5 inches and are 3 inches in diameter. My normally active chewers don't show any interest in them. I wonder if they recognize them as chews.
