Compounding is a way for licensed pharmacists to create a customized medication that meets your pets specific needs. Compounding pharmacists mix or change one or more FDA-approved medications to prepare a special medication for your pet. For example, if a medication is only available in pill form, the pharmacist might create it in liquid, gel, or capsule form.
Your pet may have a specific health need that cannot be addressed by an FDA-approved drug. For example:
Always talk with your veterinarian about any concerns you have about your pets health so they can prescribe a treatment for your pets unique needs.

I get this medicine monthly and have never had an issue. Love the auto ship. But this bottle was only 1/2 full and is almost gone a week early.
This compound appears to be as good as the one I got from out veterinarian for a good deal less money.
Too much of a hassle. Accuracy may be off when trying to draw up a precise amount and if your dog drools some of it out. You have to be very careful not to get it on your skin which can happen even when wearing gloves. You need to buy a constant supply of syringes since they can only be used a short time even if you rinse them after each use which is recommended. In summation, the compounded capsules are so much easier to deal with. They come in enough dosages to fit probably any dog's needs.
Multiple emails & calls & pharmacy continues to send an oral syringe that does not work correctly. The oral syringe neck is too long so liquid medication is left in the neck after pushing the plunger. It does not empty no matter how hard you push the plunger. This means my dog is not getting an accurate dose &/or I’m wasting medication 2 times a day that costs $80 bottle. I got this med before from another pharmacy with the correct syringe & advised chewy pharmacy but their response is to send me 2 incorrect syringes. Apparently no one at the pharmacy cares if my pet is getting an accurate dose of a very expensive compounded med. Makes me wonder about their medication compounding capability.
We've instantly seen a difference in our dog that had confirmed Cushings. He has had every single symptom of Cushings and this is helping to combat a lot of those, with very quick results. Unfortunately you have to continually test and monitor with your vet to find a dosage high enough for your pet to not hurt them. It'll be an expensive and long process but this is much cheaper than the pills and he takes it right on his food without any hesitation. He will lick his bowl perfectly clean every time, loves the flavor. Highly recommend.
We had been getting this medicine from another pharmacy, but wanted to try Chewy. Took advantage of a coupon since this was our first purchase at the Chewy Pharmacy. Penny, our 7 yr old chihuahua, has Cushings Disease and has to take this medicine the rest of her life. She doesn't like taking it, she runs when she sees me with the applicator. I just say 1 2 3 and put it in her mouth and she deals with it.
This medication is great and love the price. But it only has a 4 -months lifespan. Every time I order it, I only get 2-months of this lifespan. meaning you are sending me the last 2-months lifespan of the batch that was made up. Compounded 02/08/2022. Use before 06/08/2022. I had refilled on 03/19/2022. 60mL /5mg twice a day. I only get a about 2-months and 2 weeks of use. You only sale it by 30mL, 60mL, 90mL.It would benefit more if it were 70mL. Is there a reason why you don't do the 70mL?
I’m not typically a fan of putting clothes on my pup but I couldn’t resist this, and she actually seems to enjoy wearing it! It’s adorable, the fabric is soft, it’s well made and the print compliments my dogs personality. It washes well too! I wish there were more designs like this! We bought a large for our Shiba Inu. Just used the measurements in the description and they were accurate.
We have been giving our dog Vetoryl capsules (for Cushing's disease) for over a year. They are really hard to give her, and sometimes find a pill that she spits out later. A friend recently told us that she gives their dog the liquid form (chicken flavored) and that it's much easier. It is much easier, and our dog doesn't mind the taste! So we're always sure she has had the correct dosage. Chewy offers the product in many strengths (mg/ml) which makes it easy to change if our vet raises the dosage later. Really like the product so far and happy we found it.
I switched to Chewy due to a huge price decrease. I'm so glad I did! Not only is there no handling fee they ship via Fed Ex, at no charge! No more wondering when the meds coming or if it's going to freeze from sitting in the mailbox all day! Thank you Chewy for making life a little less stressful!
