Great for fresh breath
I have used this for 5 weeks and all of my dogs have noticeably fresh breath. For the first few days I used half the recommended amount, to avoid any potential upset stomachs. My dogs didn’t have any problems. Since I have three dogs, each with their own water bowls, I found it easier to fill a couple gallon water jugs with tap water then add the Fresh Breath solution to the jugs. One dog shys away from the bubbles at first, but the bubbles quickly disappear and she drinks with no further issue. I have put this product on autoship.
Not user friendly
This item is very messy to use, and it does not provide a good way to measure the amount needed to add to water. The directions tell you to add "half a capful," but the cap is tiny and it is difficult to tell what is half. Plus, it gets everywhere, when trying to pour some of the solution into the cap. I cannot provide an adequate review of the product's effectiveness, since I take a two-prong approach by giving my dog dental chews as well. But the messiness and the poor measuring apparatus make me rethink whether I'll buy this item again.
I think this stuff is great! My 10 year old Aussie needed dental surgery for a couple issues. Her breath was horrendous. A week post op her breath was not much better. I had already purchased this product but checked with my vet first. She told me her breath might be as good as it’s going to get but approved of my using it. 3 days after starting her breath cleared up to perfect. I’m on my second bottle and it works for us. I suggested it to my friend and the results are similar. He’s sold on it. Granted Bella had a dental along with the other procedures, but in 3 days her breath is terrific.
My dogs, a boxer and a small mixed breed, had terrible breath. Their water bowl gets washed out and refilled 3-4 times a day. With each fill up I added a little less than than a full dose of the additive. The result wasn’t overnight but half way through the bottle and it’s pleasant for them to cuddle up against me now.
Outstanding product. We have 2 dogs (7 and 10 years old), and breath is becoming an issue! I started to slowly ween this product into their water once per day, and it's been about 2 weeks since the start and the dogs don't even notice a change in taste/smell. It's nice because the product isn't super overpowering, which after reading other reviews on different products, that's what turned other people's dogs off. I've honestly noticed a big time change in both our dogs breath for the better! I will keep buying this product and most likely in bulk!
I asked my vet about using water additives, and she said she was skeptical, so she tried it on her dogs and it worked. I tried the brand she recommended, but my dog wouldn't drink it until she was desperately thirsty (not healthy!). I switched to Tropiclean and she loves it. Her breath is fresh and her teeth look good.
When I adopted my second dog I noticed that she had REALLY bad breath compared to the other and when they began drinking from the others water bowl they both began to develop stinky breath. I remembered this product and I decided to give it a try since it also helps with plaque buildup which my dog had a bit of. This product DEFINITELY helped with the bad breath and it wasn’t a minty smell which meant that it didn’t discourage them from drinking water! It also helped reduce my dogs plaque a lot faster than just when I used to brush her teeth, but of course this product and dental treats cannot replace brushing all together, they are best used alongside each other for the best results!
This seems to be working well - just started putting it in my dog's water recently and her breath is better. I really like that it's odorless/tasteless too for her; just give it a minute after you put the water in for the foam to disperse.
Wouldn't know if it was working
My two year old poodle has developed some plaque and tartar that I am concerned about, so I decided to up my oral health game. I have started adding this to water (after double checking that it's okay for my cats, too), and at first my dogs were reluctant to drink until they absolutely had to. It took a few days, but now they are drinking normally with this added. I wouldn't know if it was working or not, I imagine it's too soon to tell, but his teeth are certainly not getting worse. I would recommend adding this by increasing slowly, over the course of a week or so.
Works for my dog, but they really need to redesign the spout so it doesn't drip
Been using this for years and it works. One thing that bothers me every time is the spout drips on the side of the bottle after you use it. This needs to be improved to reduce waste.
