Questions & Answers

How long will this 10lb bag last for 1 cat?

Answer by ChewySep 04, 2024
We recommend 1 bag per cat per month, but actual usage may vary depending on your pet. Generally, one bag will last for one month with one cat. Keep in mind other factors may influence your usage such as the size of your litter box, how deep you fill it, and how often your cat(s) use it.

Would this litter be compatible with the Litter Robot?

Answer by ChewyJul 17, 2024
The pellets don't work with most auto litter boxes.

Do you need a special type of litter scooper to filter out the long/skinny (non-clumped) litter pieces while scooping waste?

Answer by ChewyJul 15, 2024
This litter is compatible with any litter scooper with slits large enough for the pellets.

Can you use this if you have a septic tank?

Answer by ChewySep 30, 2025
The litter works fine so long as you flush in small amounts at a time. It completely breaks down in water.

Dust FREE, low tracking, and easy scooping

I have been lucky to have cats who adjust well to new litters - and I had almost tried them all. I moved to a new home and the tracking and dust became unmanageable until I tried Tuft + Paw. I love it! The tracking is minimal and easy to sweep up, it doesn't stick to stuff like wood litters or clay, and best of all it is virtually dust free! The bonus is the easy scooping. I had to change the scoop to one with bigger holes or it takes too long to sift the pellets through. I absolutely love this litter, and my cats seem happy too. My floors and furniture are much cleaner, my cats are cleaner, and mama is happy!

Flushable but does not smell good at all.

Really love the product, just definitely recommend the Lavender scented version instead if your cats don’t mind scented litter; this charcoal one smelled as expected

Really love the product, just definitely recommend the Lavender scented version instead if your cats don’t mind scented litter; this charcoal one smelled as expected from a charcoal pellet, but mix in what the cats use it for and I couldn’t handle the smell after a while. I don’t recommend this version (unscented charcoal) but definitely recommend the Lavender version for flushable litter. I also recommend following the instructions for slowly transitioning cats to this type of litter as it is shaped differently than the normal clay clumping type and my cats were a bit unsure at first. After a few days, they haven’t had any issues since.

Great non tracking

We like this because of the no-tracking and because it does not get stuck in kitty's paws! These are better for us rather than pellets, because our cats don't like walking on the pellets, this is like a 'shredded' type of material. Perhaps they don't sift through the shovel well for some, but works great if you have a good, metal shovel. I use a plastic pet-food-scooper to get the wee out, and the sifting scooper to get the poop. Works great for us, only problem is the price, that's why I only gave 4 stars.

I don’t know if it’s flushable I would never flush the stuff because it’s very clay like when it gets wet and I’m afraid it would clog my plumbing. It stinks like fish. It’s not cat urine smell. It’s a fishy smell. It gets tracked around more than the yesterday’s news type of litter that I normally use and that I’m going to stick with

The litter is effective in reducing tracking. Our 2 cats would not use the Really Great Cat Litter when it was the only litter in the box. We mixed it in with traditional litter to help the adjustment. Perhaps it would be an easier transition if they were not already accustomed to traditional litter.

My cats do not like it. They have always gone in the litter box. They’ve both 12. I guess they don’t like the change and they have peed on the floor next to the litter box and pooped outside of it. For this reason, I have to go back to the litter that gets all over my house. I’m very sad about it.

I introduced her gradually to the Tuft and Paw. And discovered after a short time that she was pooping in her litter box. However, after cleaning the clumps out, I discovered she was pooing in there but peeing outside the box. So 3 days after discovering this, I switched her back to her old litter. God only knows where she has peed in the house. I only saw her do it once. I was mortified! It was on the carpet too. I’ll give it another shot later on but for now, I need to stop auto ship please, until I get this figured out.

I was skeptical because I kept seeing ads on instagram for it, which makes me skeptical. But I’m actually pretty impressed. It’s very low tracking, I’ve only seen a handful of pellets outside the litter box. I knocked one star off because it doesn’t stick to poo very well and kinda falls off it so it makes cleanup a little messier than it could be. But the ultra low tracking makes up for this overall

My kitty is a black & white tux rescue, so not terribly picky. This litter does last forever but does track a little once she comes out of her box. MUCH less dust, however, which I really like. A bit harder to clean bc of the shape of the pellets. But all in all it’s worth the price bc it’s very usable.
