About This Item
Vetmedin is a prescribed FDA Approved veterinary inodilator that aids in dilating veins and arteries. It also works to increase cardiac output, which lightens the workload of your dog's heart. Vetmedin may also help your dog with congestive heart failure so she can feel better and improve her quality of life. Given every 12 hours, the unique dual action of Vetmedin dilates the blood vessels carrying blood to and from the heart—reducing the preload and afterload on the heart—while simultaneously improving contractility of the heart muscle. Pimobendan, Vetmedin’s active ingredient, reduces stress on the heart while increasing cardiac output, without raising oxygen or energy consumption. Vetmedin helps dogs engage in the daily activities they enjoy. These chewable tablets have a wag-worthy beef flavor and are available in four convenient dosing sizes (1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg).
Proudly sourced directly from the manufacturer or their approved distributor. Guaranteed genuine and backed by the manufacturer.

Amazing!!!
This medication has been a lifesaver for our little old lady. We were so worried that we were going to lose her back in April 2022, but with this medication along with 2 others, she’s gone back to her normal self. Never have issues getting it delivered, either!
Shout out to Chewy Pharmacy
I realize I'm rating Chewy and not the medication here. I had to get a refill on this med that is only available from a vet. I was out of town longer than planned and had to get a refill. My vet is not allowed to mail medication and recommended Chewy. The woman who answered my call was so helpful and got a refill to me in a few days. Thank you Chewy! I will continue to get my pet medications from you!
Vetmedin chews
Like most dogs Cuddles won't just chew her pills. I have to break in half and wrap them in roast beef. She will eat them most of the time and doesn't spit them out at me. She also likes them in turkey too. I wish they were smaller pills. They had them at the Vet the first time we received them. Each pill was individually wrapped. Butvitcseems you can't get them now because of Covid.
Not just for dogs!
My cat has been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and she's on a cocktail of medications necessary to keep her alive. Cat owners all know what a chore it is to get a cat to take medication, especially when it's in liquid form - originally I was giving her two doses of liquid Pimobendan every day, and on top of a second medication she had to take by liquid, it was just a super stressful situation for everyone. I asked my vet if the Pimobendan came in pill form, and was prescribed this Vetmedin. While it says "Chewable Tablets for Dogs," it's the same product and works just as well for cats who are on Pimobendan (which actually, even that is considered an "off-label" use). The pills are pretty big, so I break them in half for her, but when I mix them into her dry food she gobbles it all right up. Such a relief to be able to reduce her syringe-administered medications to twice a day, instead of four times.
The Bottle is Small, but the amount is large!
I appreciated the amount and space saving with this type of vetmedin. IT feels like there is less tablets but there is the total, with all the meds our pups have to take its great. Btw, vet always says this kind of tablet is better then the compounded one for absorption.
ChiChis Heart meds
Chewy helped me to get her rx straightened out and on it’s way. Unfortunately a week after she started them she passed away in her sleep. Besides her enlarged heart and Stage 4 murmur she had mastitis cancer and had some spots in her lungs too. I’m brokenheartened. I appreciate all the pharmacist did to help me though.
Count your pills
This was my first order of pills, and I didn't bother to count them. Today I find that I am short about 6 pills. I will count them in the future. The item itself is fine. Ordering and delivery of my order went smoothly. I will give them a second chance.
Pain med for my dog
I haven't been using Chewy very long, but the few times I ordered something, not only was the price unbeatable, but the item came faster than I thought it would. I am delighted with the product and the fast service. Will continue to use!
Didn’t quite hit the mark
Adequate but not the tiny tablets my vet prescribes and miniature schnauzer is accustomed to swallowing. The chewable tablets are very large and he never takes his meds willingly. It makes it much more difficult to get his meds down him when I can’t get the tiny tablets and he rejects the chewables.
Working great so far!
My dog needs Vetmedin for his heart, and it has been working great! Chewy delivers what we need so fast, and they are always so pleasant to work with. We get the Hill's kidney prescription diet (chicken flavored kibble, chicken and beef flavored canned stew, and their two kinds of treats).
