My cat had a bladder full of crystals and a bad case of IBS that meant she couldn't eat any of the prescription urinary diet foods without horrific side effects. I started mixing this into her regular wet food and the crystals were almost entirely gone within a month. This ONLY works on struvite crystals, NOT calcium oxalate, and you do have to be careful about dosage because if you change the urine ph too much in the opposite direction you can actually cause calcium oxalate stones. That said, as long as you keep that in mind I highly recommend this stuff.
By advice of my vet, we tried this product. My cat is very prone to bladder crystals and has spent time in vet hospital for them. My vet said to put 1” strip in his cat bowl 3-5 times a week, in the am. You can tell how much better he feels; he runs around, plays with other cats in the house and looks great! Something to really give consideration for a cat that gets crystals. Along with store bought drinking water, chlorine is bad for cats.
He liked the taste at first but didn't like how sticky it was, he would not eat it out of a bowl or directly from the tube because it would stretch like molasses, but he would eat it off of my finger at first because I would hold it a little above him and the gravity helped it all fall into his mouth in mostly one lick. Eventually got tired of this after a couple days and wouldn't even lick it off of his paw to clean himself. I will say it does seem to work because his urine smelled pretty acidic when he would eat it.
This was supposed to help animals with UTIs. I have pretty litter and knew one of my cats had it. I began feeding them both this. It got slightly better but not totally.
Not only did this NOT do anything to help lower my cats ph, it gave him horribly explosive, liquid diarrhea, never mind the fact that it is full of cane molasses. What a waste of money.
pet did not like taste of product it was very hard to give it to her without her fighting to spit it out will be returning methigel
If the cats won't eat it wouldn't work for either of them
I gave this to my cats as a preventative. I gave them a quarter of the recommended dosage. Four out of 5 got sick within 25 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this for cats.
Arrived on time. Easy to squeeze container. My dog takes it in food just fine! Was recommended by vet for high ph to avoid stones from forming.
One of our cats was having urinary tract issues so we giving her this and it helped clear up her issues. She also didn't fight to take it.
