I gave these to my young 5 week old kitten per recommendation of my vet, they gave him diarrhea. I stopped. I still had them when a sick feral became part of our family. They seemed to help him, but he had severe diarrhea for months. I had him on 3 different meds thinking he had some weird things going on. Vet could not find anything And I was on verge of spending $150 for testing. Then I took him off everything and he got better...finally! So I gave him a few weeks and his runny eyes started again. So I gave him a low dose of the Lysine, 1 twice daily. Well, the diarrhea is back. I can't help think these are the culprit. I will be throwing them in the trash. Really hoped they would help him...they actually seemed to, except for the diarrhea...severe. so not worth it.
These have great reviews and were recommended by my vet for our 3 cats, since one is for sure positive for feline herpesvirus. I opened the package and the majority of the treats were stuck/smashed together. Maybe that's normal but it was a good solid chunk. ? Regardless, none of the kitties wanted to eat them. I even broke them up in smaller pieces hoping it would smell better and they'd try them. Nope. I'm sure it's a good product, but we will never know.
I was so excited to get these in as my vet recommended these for my cattery. So since I have 12 cats I purchased the biggest count. Unfortunately only 2 of them will willingly eat these treats. The rest have to be grounded up and mix into their wet food.
Two of my three Siberians need lysine immune support, and I have been adding a powder to their wet food. I thought the treats would be easier (if more expensive per dose) and bought these in a recommendation of a friend who's cats love this brand. None of my 3 would touch these, over a week long period of offering them :( big miss on this product for us!
As others have mentioned in these reviews, they changed the formula on these, they smell funny and my cats won't eat them. Chewy is so great! They refunded my money and asked that I just donate the treats or give them to someone with cat(s). I didn't have to return them!
Our vet recommended these and we initially purchased them from their office. I decided to check Chewy to see if I could purchase it there for a much more reasonable cost. They appear to help our cat with his allergy issues and the best part is he eats them!
4 cays (one who would eat a rock if we put it in his bowl, none would touch these. In past these were a staple to healing a special needs cat, idk what happened, its been awhile since bought.Product seemed harder, smelt bad, and even our puppy wouldn't touch! He loves even stinky stuff.
my problem with this is more the condition the product was delivered. it was under a 40 lbs box of cat litter and partially crushed. The treats are stuck together in one big glob and I have to break it off to give it to my cat. Some are fine, but other wise, it as a bit of a pain and should not have been deliered that way. My cat loves it and eats them readily and it is a easy way to give him the lysine- He has FIV, so I thought the immune boost would be good for him.
My kitties didn't like the taste of these chews, they aren't soft so I broke them up in little pieces for them. Also tried mixing them in wet food but I gave up after a few tries. Going to try the powder instead
Purchased as it was Veterinarian Recommended Brand, however I cannot get any of my Felines to eat. Have 2 Indoor & 2 Outdoor Felines, not one of them will eat. Very Disappointed.
