About Wagner's Bird Food

Wagner's Wild Bird Food

Wagner's has a simple philosophy when it comes to feeding wild birds—feed them the seeds they like. And they make it easy for bird watchers to keep their feeders busy with a wide variety of premium, specialty, deluxe and value blends. Wagner's seed mixes are made with only the cleanest, freshest ingredients to fill your yard with the happy chirps of satisfied songbirds.

Always The First

As an industry trailblazer, Wagner's has had many firsts. They were the first company over 80 years ago to sell a bird seed for year-round feeding. Before that, bird feeding was just a winter activity to give wild birds the energy they needed to survive the winter. They've also been the first to market black oil sunflower seed, regional blends, and deluxe and premium bird foods.

Please don’t buy

Powdery. 90% white millet and 10% (maybe) sunflower chips. Absolutely NO nyjer seed in this bag !! All seeds white or pale beige. Very disappointed. I suggest Wagner’s Finches Supreme as a much better product.. chewy’s offers great products at good prices usually, so I’m going rate them high this time.

Finches do not like

This is loaded with a lot more millet than what the photo shows. I knew that millet was considered a 'filler' but based on the photo, it showed a lot of nyjer seed (the black seeds) which finches love so I thought it would be ok. Unfortunately, my wild finches were not impressed. I ended up giving to my ground feeder birds instead (sparrows, junos, mourning doves) and even they left the millet. I do not recommend.

Good seedss

Good seed but not much different than other cheaper seeds i have purchased. I have too many birds for the expense this is. So even tho it appeared nice and fresh probably won't buy again.

Finch Food

I bought this to add to my other bird food to keep the finches coming. So far is working very well, lots of colorful birds.

Don't waste your money

I love the Wagner's Sunflower chips but this Finches Deluxe is terrible. The finches won't eat the majority of the seeds and they are just left all over the ground. The Kaytee Deluxe Finch Food is soooo much better. I accidentally bought two bags of the Wagner that I don't know what I will do to get rid of it. I do like the velcroe closure on the Wagner's brand.

Song birds love this

Àll small seeds. The sparrows and finches come to all the feeders all day. Wonderful to watch.

Not impressed

For starters, the photo shows a good mix of seeds, with many dark colored seeds finches love. The actual bag I received had probably 90% cheap white millet in it and very few other types of seeds. The finches don’t like it and threw all of it on the ground, to pick out the few seeds they wanted. They emptied the feeders within a couple of hours simply by throwing it all on the ground, where other types of birds ate it, and unfortunately they were mostly cowbirds and blackbirds—the bully birds I was trying to avoid. I was specifically trying to feed finches and not these types of birds, which is why I bought FINCH seeds. It was so unhappy watching the finches busily throwing all the feed on the ground and ignoring it. I will stick to purely nyjer seed from now on for my finches. The remainder of this seed is just going into the regular hopper feeder for the other birds. I love Chewy and this is not their fault, but the photo misrepresents this product.

Great bird seed

This seed works well in our finch feeder, and has attracted a lot of birds.

birds are ignoring it

Whoops. I read that this seed mix included nyjer and sunflower chips, which it does, but it is about half millet. My birds are not impressed. Back to the more expensive blend.
