Wagner's Always The First

Always The First

As an industry trailblazer, Wagner's has had many firsts. They were the first company over 80 years ago to sell a bird seed for year-round feeding. Before that, bird feeding was just a winter activity to give wild birds the energy they needed to survive the winter. They've also been the first to market black oil sunflower seed, regional blends, and deluxe and premium bird foods.

About Wagner's

As the oldest and largest privately owned wild bird food company in the USA, Wagner's has been helping bird enthusiasts attract wild birds to their backyards since 1894. With special blends of high-quality, fresh ingredients, their seed mixes have become time-tested favorites for all types of birds across America. They produce many different wild bird foods that are developed to give your feathered friends more of the seeds they love, making your feeders come alive with beautiful songbirds.

  • Don’t bother with this mix either

    By on

I keep waiting for Chewy to offer some outstanding wild bird food but so far I am disappointed. I bought the Eastern Region and the Southern region mixes of this food, and really could not see a difference. Most of the seed was white millet, which the birds will not eat, they just toss it on the ground. Where it sprouts, and then you have a weeding job! Really low count of sunflower seeds, which the birds want. For now I will keep going to local retailers for wild bird food.

  • A little disappointed

    By on

I was a little disappointed. There weren’t near as many sunflower seeds as I expected. There were so many little tiny white finch seeds‘s and Milo seeds that the birds just kicked them out on the ground to get to the sunflower seeds. I’ve even tried the Audubon wild bird seed and again, was disappointed. I suppose I will keep searching for a better wild bird seed.

  • bird food birds like Texas

    By on

I was hoping it would be more like the bird food from Wild Birds Unlimited. There are some Safflower Seeds, but mainly this tiny little round things, that fall on the floor through the waterholes in the bird feeder. Sorry, will never buy that again

  • Definitely attracts birds.

    By on

In addition to the usual suspects, the cracked corn and peanuts that the birds spill attracts ducks. A Mallard couple has taken up residence under a bird feeder hanging from a red maple since we starting using this blend.

  • Ok but Full Of Filler

    By on

I thought this might be a better quality blend but it's still full of millet which just makes a mess and isn't really preferred by most birds

  • Bird feed contains "25% black oil, sunflower seeds plus safflower seeds "

    By on

Had I been more observant as to the bag contents especially with regard to "25% black oil and striped sunflower seeds plus safflower seeds and grains...." I wouldn't have wasted my money on this product. Even though my feeders are anti-squirrel, the birds couldn't get to them because of the squirrels hanging onto the feeders. What do you suggest would be a better product for use in my yard?

  • Birds LoVE this

    By on

I bought some bird seed from a local store and made my seed mixture and put in it the containers on my deck and thought they were eating it. Come to find our we ended up throwing it in the woods. I got this seed and they love it. Many more birds are coming to my feeders now. I recommend this to all those who live and feed their flying friends who live in the mid-Atlantic this seed.
