Feeding Instructions

The amount of food your dog requires depends on age, activity level, breed and environment. Always provide access to clean, fresh water.

When fed alone to Adults: feed 1 - 1 1/4 cans per 8 lbs of body weight per day.

For puppies: up to twice Adult amount.

For combination feeding: reduce dry by 1/3 cup for every 1/2 can wet.

Transition Instructions

The best way to transition onto a new food is to gradually introduce the food by mixing it with the old diet. Mixing the food will allow the dog to acclimate to the new taste and not overindulge on the new food.

  • My Golden LOVED it, BUT

    By on

My 7 year old Golden loved this chicken recipe, but 4 cans in, we soon found out she has a chicken allergy! Fleas were not a factor, because the only thing I changed to our routine was adding the chicken wet food into her diet. As soon as I replaced the chicken recipe with Welness’s turkey recipe, all scratching has almost immediately stopped, and with the help of a good oatmeal bath, she is almost back to being itch free. We LOVE Wellness! However, the chicken recipe was not for us.

  • Great product BUT 4 of the 12 cans were badly crushed

    By on

I normally don't write complaints as I LOVE Chewy & the products they offer, however, today I received the case of food (the only food my dog with a sensitive stomach likes & does well on) BUT 4 of the 12 cans are BADLY crushed. Not just dented, but the entire bottom of the cans are crushed as if they got stuck in a machine or something. And the odd part is, the 4 crushed cans were packed in the middle of the box surrounded by uncrushed cans so IF a human packed this case, they were fully aware they were sticking 4 crushed cans in the box (and trying to hide them in the middle which I don't appreciate) which is the only reason why I'm writing this negative review. Chewy customer service is amazing & is replacing the case but again, in case a human tried to hide these crushed cans, I wanted it documented to hopefully prevent it from happening to anyone else. … more

  • Just couldn't adjust

I have a puppy who loves the chicken and peas for small breeds. As she was growing, the little containers just weren't enough so I tried to switch her to this version, but her stools never firmed up.

  • My dogs love it

My golden retriever can’t get enough (of course, Golden’s are gluttons). My Siberian husky loves it too, they both get this on top of their dry food at night. It’s the only time she cleans the bowl.

  • Napoleon won't eat it

Our dog has become extremely picky. This food looks great with quality ingredients so I believe it is just him. We are going to keep trying other foods to see what little Mr. Fussy pants will eat.

  • Our dogs love it.

I mix this with a little dry food for our little dog and he loves it. The two bigger dogs get a spoonful on top of their dinner and love it as well. Easy to open pop tab on cans are a plus.

  • High quality

I was having trouble getting my nursing female to eat enough, but mixing this with her kibble got her to clean her bowl. She turned up her nose at other canned food, until I tried this one!

  • An adequate but unspectacular food.

    By on Top 100 Contributor

This seems a pretty generic wet food and just a bit disappointing coming from Wellness. The cans are packed full, with only a minimum of gravy, but the ingredients seem to include the traditional 'mystery meat' with one or two pieces of carrot. The dogs eat it but without much gusto.

  • This food is always a hit!

My dogs really like this food. I started my morkie puppy on this food around 6 months and she is still enjoying it without reluctance. Wellness stews have never let me down.

  • Shipping was fine.

My dog, Coco, enjoys the Lamb stew, and chicken stew the best. And, if he eats, I'm Happy, and if he's Happy. that's good. Thanks. Vera
