We have been working hard to take the best care of our 15.75 yr old Black Lab, Reddwood. She got sick about a month and a half ago. The diarrhea, fatigue, and lack of extra energy were her only symptoms. Had her on a bland diet, then added probiotics, and literally felt helpless. The vet tested her and said she is fine, just an old dog. We researched Wellness, and purchased the core digestive health along with the treats. If she is in her end time, I want her to be happy. After three days on the food, she had healthy solid poops, more energy, and her trotting around and jumping on the couch is an added bonus! We are blessed to have her each and every day. Thanks wellness!
This is a kibble I've used for many years. It's a very good product and as far as I know, it has never had a "recall!" My dog only gets 1/4 cup in the morning as he gets homemade raw human-grade food at night. This is basically just in case something is missing in his raw food.
My dog Honey has been on this food for a little over a week. So far it's been good. We had to change dog food because she kept having diarrhea and after 2 cycles of Flagyl and a diet of chicken and rice. They second time we put her back on her regular dog food, she again began having diarrhea. The vet said it she continues to change her food. She is 13 and was on Wellness senior food for a few years but it began bothering her stomach. So we switched to Wellness digestive health. I hope she continues to do well on it. She really likes it too which is a bonus.
Our 9 year old Bernese Mountain Dog has been suffering from constipation and doing “the scoot” switched to this food and added a daily probiotic. Not sure which is helping, but it’s only been 2 weeks and she’s definitely more comfortable. Ordered a second bag already!
While one of my dogs is doing well on this food the other has broken out into a rash. I’ll continue to feed for the one that is ok but won’t reorder again once it’s gone. Prior to this the one had no issues at all with skin problems and this is the only thing different introduced into his diet and we’ve been home in his normal surroundings so no other explanation than the food.
My 13yo Corgi loves this food. She has in the past had stomach issues when switching foods and didn’t with this one.
Our 12 year old basset hound started having indigestion issues about a year ago. He was having almost constant wet burps and throwing up his food 2-3 times a week. We took him to the vet thinking it was something terrible, but turns out he is just old and has developed a sensitive digestion tract. The vet started him on Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and Skin, which worked ehh OK for his indigestion, but after about 6 months we decided to try to transition him to Wellness Core Digestion Health Age Advantage. Not only does he seem to like this food better and it works just as well for his indigestion, but within about a week of transitioning him, he was racing around and acting like a puppy. No wet burps, no throwing up, AND basset zoomies? Huge win :)
Had to try a new food since our other was out of stock. The dogs seem to be ok with it.
After hearing from my vet about some potential cardiac risks to a grain-free diet, I looked for alternatives to supplement a prescription dry food (urinary diet) recommended for both our senior girls. They have always eaten Wellness and the switch occurred approximately one month ago and all has been good thus far.
Wellness Core Digestive Age Advantage is quality food that our 8 year old loves. A cup mixed with water for moisture and he gobbles it right up. Noticed a better mood with a pep in his step.
