Universally disliked by cats that love tuna
By ccat on Jan 7, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
My cats generally love tuna. Because they’re cats, they grow tired of food, but they never even wanted to eat this one. I was extraordinarily surprised because they like other Weruva flavors including chicken and tuna. Very, very disappointed. And also very confused because my friend’s cat apparently loves his food. It has a very thick consistency. And it’s made with the darker tuna. Those of you who are familiar with tuna cat foods probably know what I’m talking about. I’ve never seen them dislike tuna/chicken food like this before. Unfortunately I really cannot recommend.

Poor replacement
By Queanne on Jan 22, 2021
Because you did not have the grain free chicken and pumpkin samba canned available, nor the chicken and cheese that I always buy from you, I substituted this at your recommendation. It’s messy and smelly. Have you stopped carrying my original brand?

Ugh, added fish/tuna
By unhappy on Nov 21, 2020
The first cans we bought did not have any fish and our cats loved it. It worked real well for our senior cat. Then Weruva added fish and the older cat won't touch it. Spent a lot, thinking we were getting the one she liked - instead she won't touch it. Will not order it again. Very displeased.

I wanted them to like it!
By Catmomto5 on Sep 22, 2020
I have 5 cats. One specifically with crystal problems. This food was recommended because it is grain free. For the price I am thinking it is much better food? Two of my cats threw it up and one refused to eat it. It says it is Chicken and Pumpkin but it smells a lot like fish. I will donate the remaining case to a shelter.

Funk in the Trunk... Now with Tuna!
By CatHerder on Aug 23, 2020
You relabeled your seafood flavors when you switched from aspic to gravy. I suppose because you wanted to increase your sales. But now that you’ve changed your Cats in the Kitchen formulas and added tuna to virtually, if not all, recipes, Weruva said nothing. Zero. Zip. Nadda. Tuna is a known carcinogen, and being cat owners I’m sure you’re aware of the link between tuna consumption and mouth cancer. Being a family-owned business means nothing if the family is asleep at the wheel, or worse. Bye bye.

Funk in the trunk!
By Kiki on Jul 20, 2020
After trying the variety box of the cats in the kitchen options from WERUVA, my picky cat seems to like this flavor the most, it's pretty much the only wet food she'll eat. She ate all the other flavors, but after trying this she wouldn't eat the Chicken Frick A Zee one, and barely touch the other options. So now we only get the Funk In The Trunk flavor :) Tip: A case of 12 10oz cans is exactly enough for 7 weeks of feeding a single cat - about three table-spoons for breakfast and dinner. (she has dry food available during the day as well)

Rotten cans
By Catcoast on Oct 12, 2020
This company repeatedly has bad batches where the cans smell rotten. Chewy helped correct the issues, but quality has gone down hill with this brand.

They did not like it.
By AlyR on Nov 20, 2020
Pets turned up their noses at this. They are not usually picky but they left this untouched.

Formula seems different
By LeeP on Jul 9, 2020
I’ve been purchasing this flavor of food for my cats for several years. I’ve noticed a different formula when I purchase it from Chewy than from other stores. There seems to be more chicken and less pumpkin consommé in the cases purchased from Chewy. This wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that my cats prefer the pumpkin consommé. They eat the chicken, but when there’s more of it, my oldest cat walks away from her food bowl. Dented cans also change the color of the product.

Cat likes it so far
By SteveL on Sep 15, 2020
She’s had about 3 cans so far and seems to like it. Soft metal cans like most of Weruva’s come dented but still intact.
