What’s the mercury content for this?

Answer by ChewyOct 05, 2022
The biggest concern when it comes to feeding fish is mercury. Fish will have some level of mercury in them or other toxins, and we do test for mercury, histamines and pcbs. Yet, not all fish were created equally. In a nutshell, the lower on the food chain, the younger and smaller the fish, the fewer toxins. They use fish that meet the FDA's list of those lower in mercury. There are many species of tuna, some of which have high levels of mercury. They use skipjack and bonito, smaller and younger species that has lower levels. So, while there will be mercury, it will be on the lower side. They do not have the specific values for this flavor.

My cats didn't like this as much as they seemed to the first time

They ate some of it, but some sat on their plate for a couple of hours

My cats won't eat it

My two cats like most of the Weruva flavors, Mack & Jack and Polynesian BBQ are both big hits. They wont touch the La Isla Bonita.

Two out of the three cats eat it right away

the third one takes a bit of cajoling. And then he gobbles it up. I make an effort for the cats to be introduced to different types of food, so I n like that this

They all three loved it

I have 3 picky cats. It can be hard to find a food they all like. They love it. Couldn't wait for breakfast time!

The shrimp!

This happens to be my cats favorite. It has a whole shrimp, and it’s the only one that she devours.

Weruva la isla Bonita is the only cat food my cat will eat. When you open the can you will see several small shrimps in the food. She only eats a small spoonful each day so the cans last several days for her. She is super picky. Try it. Maybe it will work for your feline.

Top 1000 Contibutor

Great brand and healthy ingredients

Not sure why my cats aren't in love with this food though the texture is a little weird with some big chunks of fish (yum!) and some kind of gritty gravely something

Not sure why my cats aren't in love with this food though the texture is a little weird with some big chunks of fish (yum!) and some kind of gritty gravely something else (not so yum!) Descriptions of cat foods (and not just this brand) are often misleading and this doesn't seem au jussy, more like chunky au gravelly gravy.
