Saved us a lot of worry and searching!
By Paul on Jan 19, 2021
We have two dogs on a large, rural property where there are multiple homes people are occupying. Unfortunately, a couple of the tenants can't seem to remember to close the darn gates! These trackers have been a life-saver! They notify you via text when the dogs go "exploring" out of range of the home's WiFi or a designated safe zone, and the tracking feature leads you right to them! Had them on the dogs for five days, and the battery life is still over 50% remaining, despite having to engage the GPS tracking three times already!

Great for health...miss on GPS
By Dallas on Jan 9, 2021
I had originally wanted to purchase this when I first brought my Golden Retriever home, but seeing as how the age needed for a baseline is 1 year, I waited. The health tracking aspect is absolutely wonderful. I love that it gives me progress on our daily activity goal, really gives you motivation to get out and play those extra few minutes. I love that it gives you baselines for their drinking, licking, sleeping, and scratching habits; this was a feature I didn't know about until after I purchased. It does take about a week to establish your dogs baseline activity and gets more precise the longer they wear it. Now, here's the flaw. It's advertised as a GPS tracker, but the GPS only really I had originally wanted to purchase this when I first brought my Golden Retriever home, but seeing as how the age needed for a baseline is 1 year, I waited. It's advertised as a GPS tracker, but the GPS only really works when you're on WIFI. I took my dog to the park and while at no point did it alert she was far away from me as a "breach", when my husband and I later looked at map it had said she had been in a neighborhood nearly 1 mile from where we had actually been. It's not like we were in the middle of nowhere either, we should have had pretty accurate data for being in Arlington. We love to camp and hike, so the GPS feature was the primary factor in my purchase and the fact that it isn't reliable off a WIFI network despite purchasing the $90 AT&T plan is disappointing. As far as purchasing the product from chewy, that's the only reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 3. It shipped and delivered quickly and was packaged just as it would have been from the actual website. … more

Go Fi instead
By Jordan on Jan 18, 2021
Their customer service will take forever to reach back to you I lost a month of my trial due to them being slow. I have an active dog and it only stays charged for 3 days. The product also broke and couldn’t connect to the collar in the first month of my trial. Overall health features are nice on it but the gps can lag and give false reads. It’s just average hoping there are better collars and I’m trying the fi one right now because it has better battery and is has more reliable with the signal.

Used one day so far....
By Farmmom on Jan 1, 2021
I’ve had this on our 6 pound Maltese mix for 24 hours now. I will say it’s a little big for him and we’ve had 3 false escape reports so far. The pluses I like so far is that it barely has used any battery life, the app is super simple to use and set up preferences, and I like the light on the tracker. I will keep giving this a try for a few more days and see how many more false reports come in. He’s hooked to our wifi and it will still send me a notification that he’s 0.3 miles away from home when he’s sleeping on the couch. If we still have issues I will return it.

Inconsistent and unreliable performance
By Gary on Dec 30, 2020
I bought a Whistle expecting to be able to track my dog on the app if she got lost. We were in the woods and I tried the app but only saw the spinning update arrow...for over 1.5 hours. In that time I called the Help Center and received a call back about an hour later. The person I spoke with said two things: first, maybe it was under a bush and couldn't get a signal (it's winter). His second comment was that maybe I was in an area that did not have AT&T service (even though I had almost full bars of service- not AT&T). Let's look past the first suggestion and look at the second- I could not track my dog because she was not in AT&T's service area. Let's look past the first suggestion and look at the second- I could not track my dog because she was not in AT&T's service area. If your pet gets lost in an area that doesn't have good AT&T service, the Whistle is useless. Isn't that the main point of the Whistle? I've also been in places that do have good service and still observed poor performance. I've given it a few years and this was the last time I was going to let the device frustrate me. I just cancelled my service but am still on the hook for 6 more months. I tried to cancel by using the link in their app and it bounced back to me as "address not found". I like the idea of the Whistle but it doesn't work as reliably as advertised. The customer service is poor unless you keep digging for further assistance. The only reason for the second star is that it's nice to see daily and weekly activity even if the distances are somewhat incorrect. In my experience, Whistle makes a lot of promises that sound great but fails to reliably live up to them. TL;DR: Whistle didn't track and Help Desk didn't help. … more

This pet tracker saved my dog's life
By KiwiMom on Nov 21, 2020
I seldom write reviews. I bought this Whistle tracker about a month ago just to try out how well it tracks my dog's health, location and fitness. I was skeptical in terms of health tracking but IT SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE! I received a mobile alert today alerting me that my baby's scratching behavior has elevated from normal to SEVERE which I didn't even notice. Dogs scratch themselves daily, I thought it was normal behavior. After getting the alert and looking at the health report in the Whistle app, I called my vet immediately. Turns out that my baby is having a severe allergic reaction to something. I had to take her to my vet for a cytopoint shot to control the allergic itch! THANKS Whistle I seldom write reviews. Tracking and Health are amazing!
By Toby on Nov 3, 2020
I bought this device for my husky; 'Snoop', on recommendation from a close friend. She told me how this device not only tracks her puppy's location, but also how it monitored its health. So, I've had the device a while now and I can honestly say, I have no idea how I didn't find out about it sooner. My Husky is an escape artist, so it's of great peace of mind that I know where he is at all times. There's also notifications if he leaves the back garden. The health reporting is literally amazing!!!! I can see how Snoop has been drinking, or sleeping. It even tracks scratching, as well as far he's moved! Would recommend this to anyone who owns a dog. Terrible Support from Whistle - Buyer Beware
By JBurr on Nov 30, 2020
Trying to get in contact with anyone at Whistle has been extremely challenging - no email address listed, unattended chat feature, wait on hold for hours until someone answers the phone, etc. If there is an emergency with your pet, Whistle is not prepared to help you. I do not recommend this product because the customer support for Whistle is so poor.

Good but with a glitch
By Lisa on Nov 8, 2020
I've had the Go Explore whistle tracker on my new dog (18 month old Shepherd mix) for over a month now. The tracker has allowed me to give him more freedom to be outside in my unfenced neighborhood since I am notified when he leaves the property and can then quickly reign him back into my yard ... and I know exactly which side of the property from which to call him. The only glitch is that the tracker will randomly (at least once every 1-2 days) tell me that Andy is a significant distance from my home when he is not ... Sometimes Andy will be at home right next to me and the tracker will send a notification that he is one mile away. The tracker usually rapidly self corrects but that notification I've had the Go Explore whistle tracker on my new dog (18 month old Shepherd mix) for over a month now.
