I’ve been giving this to my new rescue for a couple weeks now and I wasn’t really sure if it has been working. Her anxiety has been less but I figured it was a combination of training and adjusting to her new home. Today I didn’t give her any because she had an upset belly and I started her on a bland diet. Once she started feeling better she went back to her old high anxiety self. The calming bites must really take the edge off for her and she will go back to them in a day or two when she is off the bland food.
We rescued a one year old coonhound and she is very anxious! Of noises, of everything. These treats really take the edge off. She’s still nervous and anxious but she can at least relax and respond when she’s taken these. We have found that they suppress her appetite so we give them to her AFTER she eats. One in the morning and one at night, as needed.
It worked for my 3 month old Dalmatian puppy. Dalmatians are known for having super high energy, combine that with being a puppy. I gave her one and within an hour she fell a sleep. I even picked her up and didn’t even move. I freaked out for a bit. But then she wiggled, then got a good rest and then woke up. I will only be giving her these on special occasions. Like long car rides, or when I really REALLY need a break. I feel bad drugging her. But they definitely work.
Our 3.5-year-old, 75 lb, male neutered Boxer was acting more anxious about noises and movements outside. Cleared by the vet, we decided to try something non-prescription (he isn't on any meds aside from Heartguard). These only made him thirsty and sleep deeper when he would have normally been asleep anyway. He does LOVE the taste and they smell like some pretty decent jerky but they are too expensive for simple treats. Our pup drank extra bowls of water, even on half doses, that led to more outdoor trips and he kept smacking his lips like he had cotton mouth. We tried another variety with similar ingredients and the exact same results (if you see another similar review - this is why).
I have been tried so many different things and this one really has a significant impact on my dog. He is more calm and relaxed.
These bites did little for Reily's anxiety except make her sleepy. Started with small dose as suggested, even though they had little to no effect. Progressed stronger but they only made her sleepy. Did not make her calmer in social meetings or attempting to go for walks.
I received the zesty paws treats only to find an already opened seal and old treats that looked harmful.
I love this product for my scary cat DOGS... both of my dogs have such a problem with thunder and lighting ... this really takes the edge off
I have a high energy GSP and I give these to him in the evening to get him to chill and get ready for bed. Takes about an hour to kick in but he's ready to lay down after having these calming bites.
I got these for my small dog, because with wind and storms he barks alot. Theses treats calmed him down alot. Best treats I've found that really work.
