CoQ-10 is used as a supplemental therapy for heart and neurological conditions in cats and dogs. It also functions as an antioxidant and therefore is also used as a supplemental treatment for inflammatory conditions and some cancers.
is this okay to give a puppy or is it adult dogs only?

This supplement is suitable for dogs of all ages, size, and breeds.
How many calories are there in 1 chewable?

As this is a supplement, the manufacturer does not test for calorie content.
I’ve been giving this as a cardiac supplement to my lab who has TVD-congenital heart condition where basically one of the heart flaps does not close completely so over time will likely build up fluid… He’s been on cardiac med as pro-active means to delay-prevent-decrease rate of the general progression of this disease. I’ve also added Zesty Paws several months ago (along with CoQ10 in the Ubiquinol form) as part of Chance’s pro-active game plan and feel confident from all the research I have done that the ingredients found in these Zesty Paws Cardiac chews contain the vital ingredients to support cardiac health.

Must have!
I've had Twinkie under 2 years. She was under 5lbs. and had never been to a vet. Found out she has congestive heart failure. I did a lot of research and decided Zesty paws was the way to go for her. She's a picky eater, but really likes these! I'm so glad as I want to help her be as healthy as possible! She also takes the senior 11-in-1 and turmeric. During Spring she also gets the hemp allergy one.

My girl loves them
I have a 10 lb. mixed breed with a heart murmur. She loves these. They smell really fishy but who cares! She loves them and I am hoping they keep her heart healthy!

Wanted to be able to use it.
I fully believe that if I had been able to use the whole jar, it would have made a difference. Please be advised to all those pet parents out there that are thinking about getting this...the Hawthorn Berry that is in here is contraindicated in pets using enalapril, as mine is. I believe it is due to the high potassium content. I am absolutely not faulting the company for this, as enalapril has a very long list of contraindications, and my boy started his heart meds only a few days after I bought this product. I just wanted to get the word of warning out there. Again, I'm sure this product is great, just be cautious of any potential drug interactions.

Don't like the taste
Our 3 dogs don't like them. I tried giving them alone, with other treats, and in their food, they just leave them behind. If just one of them wouldn't eat them I'd say fussy eater, but all 3 of them?

Not tasty apparently
One of my dogs who is notoriously food driven will not touch these. The other dog eats them reluctantly. For me they were a waste of money. The dog who refuses to eat them has a cardiac dysrhythmia.

Cardio Supplements
My dog has a serious heart murmur. I’ve tried 2 Cardio supplements and I trust both are helpful to her heart condition. She recently had an anal glad rupture and I’ve tried to help her with food and supplements to prevent a reoccurrence. I noticed that her other Cardio supplement contains magnesium. Zesty Paws doesn’t and I’m seeing a firmer stool. I think Zesty Paws is a better choice for her, helping her heart and allowing her to have a firmer stool and express her anal glands, naturally.

My dog's grade 1 heart murmur disappeared in 4 months!
"The science" on all these supplaments has gone back and forth over the last 25 years but I've seen enough with my own eyes to know that sometimes, they do make a difference for some pets. My 8-year-old Chinese Crested was diagnosed with a grade 1 heart murmur in August. I made two changes even though my vet wasn't super optimistic they would help--I added taurine (some days this supplament and some days the Vetri Cardio Canine by VetriScience) and also switched from a grain free diet to kibble with grain. My dog was recently examined by the vet for an unrelated problem and the heart murmer was gone! The vet even had a colleague come in to listen too just to be sure. There is no way to know exactly what made the difference but the vet and I both guess it is the taurine.

Sniffs and walks away
Pet will not eat. Tried enhancing and put in wet food. Still will not eat due to strong odor. Wasted her food.
