Kibble-sized with the convenience of kibble, but much better ingredients. More value for money, too, because it's dense. They get full more quickly. Fits in my auto-feeder, so it's super convenient when I'm not home. My two cats like it, and one of them is super picky.
I have 2 cats who were not a fan of this flavor. They’ll eat it as a last resort. They do enjoy the lamb version more. I’ll have to mix this bag with transitional kibble to make it more appealing to them :(
It's surprisingly hard to find a dry food without fillers that cats wouldn't normally eat like potatoes, rice etc. This is a great food without all the extra added stuff that we aren't looking for and my cat really likes it and she doesn't like just anything. We just got the smaller bag to try it out and so far it's going farther than I expected!
My cats was not into this at the beginning, but then they start to try and now they love this. Just a cup per day as topping, add some nutrition to their diet.
We fed this as a topper to my cat Taylee’s regular meal. She ate half her food which is not normal as she’s my foodie, within an hour she threw everything up. Wasn’t acting like herself either. Fed her again at dinner without the Ziwi Peak. Threw up again. Not sure if I received a bad batch or if it’s contaminated but I sure would like my money back. We’re going to the vet tomorrow since she can’t hold food down now.
Love the ziwi chicken and so do my ferrets. I have 5 different kibbles mixed in a bin along with ziwi peak so my ferrets have variety, especially if something gets discontinued because most ferrets don't always transition well after imprinting. This is the one item that is always picked out of every bowl of 12 ferrets. Ferret consensus at this household = yummy.
I have 2 ferrets, one of which is a year old and a picky eater. My oldest is a rescue and thought to be 3-4 years old. The oldest took pretty easily to this food and eats it just fine, but my youngest is taking to it a little slower. I like the idea of raw feeding, but fresh raw isn’t practical for my situation, so that means trying air dried or freeze dried. One of the main things I personally like about this food is that it doesn’t have to be rehydrated like the last freeze dried food I tried on them… which neither liked one bit. The only thing I wish would change is the size of the pieces, but it guess the size they are is geared towards cats. However, I bought a smaller size bag and found the pieces smaller. I hope this is how they’re making the pieces now because they’re perfect for my ferrets. Now they can and do eat the bigger size bits, but the smaller just seems easier for them. It’s a hit either way.
I have bought several bags now, probably around 5 now and one of my cats will eat this by itself, but the other three will not. I have to mix it with their normal dry food for them to eat it. Even though I have to do a bit extra work with it, I'm glad my kitties are getting better nutrition in their diets during their quick morning breakfast meal. So in all, 4/4 cats eat it.
My cat's reaction: My cat hesitated at first. (She usually consume wet food) I left some while I am away for work. She took time to get to know this food and finally consumed it. She knows it tastes good. Now it's her favorite. I am happy that I can put some quality food for her while I am away without having to worry about bacterial growth. Experience with Chewey: I purchased it while it was on sale during the holiday, which was nice. There was a slight problem in transit but Chewy.com took real good care of the issue. I am satisfied with the producet and thier service. Plan to purchase from here later.
My cats seem interested in this food. They like the smell, I like the ingredients however they spit it out after trying to chew it. This food just seems to "jerky" like and they have trouble with chewing it to swallow. Just really with the pieces we're smaller or softer.
