FAQ

If I give my pet a Ziwi Peak treat, how much food should I feed?

There is a lot of goodness in every Ziwi Peak treat, so we recommend you modify the amount of Ziwi Peak food at feeding time. Your pet won’t need as much if he or she has had treats, so reduce accordingly. Much as pets love them, Ziwi Peak treats don’t make a complete daily diet. Use them as a premium real-meat treat to occasionally reward your dog or cat’s good behavior.

About Ziwi

The Ziwi Difference

The Ziwi Difference
Free-Range, Grass-Fed

Free-Range, Grass-Fed

All ingredients are sourced from the green, free-range farms and blue, pristine oceans of New Zealand. Meats are sourced from humane, ethical and sustainably managed local farms. And fish is caught in the southern oceans of New Zealand, strictly managed to ensure maximum sustainability.

Air-Dried Recipes

Ziwi naturally preserves their dry dog and cat food by air-drying it, eliminating the need for artificial preservatives, salts, sugars or glycerines. Their slow, gentle, twin stage air-drying process results in a food that's as nutrient-dense and digestible as a completely raw diet, but safe and clean to handle, and can store for up to 21 months.  A little goes a long way, the recipes are so packed with the good stuff your pet needs to thrive, that you can actually feed him less than what you might be used to.

    Good food, bent cans

    By on

It is a great food for my toy poodle. Ever since I started to feed this brand her energy level went up! I top it off with Stella and Chewy freeze dry for variety and she loves it. I alternate between all the options except chicken. Hopefully, one day, the rabbit is be back! The 12 cans are enough for 20 days. I just wish the cans did not come bent. Ziwi should start paying attention.

    Amazing But Pricey Food

    By on

My dogs absolutely love this food. It's very pricey, so I have not re-purchased. I would give it in small amounts as a topper along with homemade veggies and maybe something grain-based. Ziwi seems to be great quality dog food.

    Dogs love it

Love this company. Safe ingredients and BPA free cans. My dogs love it. I mix it with their dry kibbles and my picky eater dog eats everything. My only complaint is the price$$$$$.

    Too many dented cans

    By on

The foods great, but almost ALL of the cans are dented in every case I've ever bought and I'm getting really tired of it. It's the rule, not the exception to. Even a small dent can be compromising for a can and this stuff is WAY too expensive for that kind of carelessness. I know it's the manufacturer, I don't blame chewy. I'm almost ready to shop for a new brand.

This is the perfect substitute for K9 Natural, since I can't give K9 Natural anywhere.

    First time trying Ziwi Peak

    By on

Researched different foods online and Ziwi doesn't contain the troubling ingredients I've found in other foods for my dog. This food is pricey, so I plan to alternate with another brand. Fed her the lamb recipe and she loved it. It does have a strong smell (probably the green mussel in it). The food is a little dry for a canned food, but it is thick/dense and I add a homemade broth to thin it out after putting a proper amount in her bowl to make it easier on her oral problems. Other foods have caused her to have upset stomach, but this one has been easy on her.
