Air-Dried Recipes
Ziwi naturally preserves their dry dog and cat food by air-drying it, eliminating the need for artificial preservatives, salts, sugars or glycerines. Their slow, gentle, twin stage air-drying process results in a food that's as nutrient-dense and digestible as a completely raw diet, but safe and clean to handle, and can store for up to 21 months. A little goes a long way, the recipes are so packed with the good stuff your pet needs to thrive, that you can actually feed him less than what you might be used to.

Moist Meal Options
Ziwi has moist dog and cat food recipe options too, Ziwi implements a small batch canning process to deliver high meat and moisture-rich recipes at higher can weights using the same free-range proteins that can be stored for up to three years.
Only the Good Stuff
Made with your pet's health in mind, Ziwi is made with absolutely no grains, corn, wheat, soy, rice, rendered meats, animal meals, meat by-products, cheap filler ingredients, starches like white potatoes and sweet potatoes, ethoxyquin, pea protein, salt, sugar, glycerine, artificial flavors or colors, antibiotics, growth hormones, or ingredients from China. Just pure New Zealand goodness that helps your pet thrive.

Happy Joints, Happy Pets
All Ziwi recipes include 3% New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussels, a natural source of glucosamine and chondroitin which support long-term joint health. The Green-Lipped Mussel may only be found in New Zealand, where it is farmed using ecologically-sustainable practices.

Five paws down
By Kahanachameleon on Feb 21, 2021
I have five cats. Two are super picky so it’s no surprise they turned up their noses at this. One will eat anything. He recoiled like it was poison. Two are kittens who have not learned to be discriminatory in what they eat and even they thought it was disgusting. I put the contents of the can I opened into the dish I feed the outdoor cats with and even they took all day to eat it (food usually disappears much faster than 24 hours). Unfortunately I still have 11 more cans.

Not a fan of this
By ZoeThePapillion on Feb 28, 2021
Hello this is Dora and Strudel. We are Maine Coons. We were not a fan of this Venison cat food. We are not sure if it was the favor or the texture. We found it to be drier that other canned food. Sorry to say, but we will not be purchasing again.

Mom bought this for me.
By FlippyCat on Jan 16, 2021
I didn't like it,. I'm not a hunting cat, I'm a City boy! I LOVE the Ziwi Peak chicken stew. Mom gave this flavor to a rescue organization. Our friend said the cats LOVED it. They are all much much much younger than me and so not so set in their ways. I am old and sometimes cranky and definitely food picky. Mom loves food and to try all kinds of things. I don't. But I bet she buys me something exotic again. Glad those younger rescue cats have a wider pallet. PS Ziwi has organ meat in it and that is good.

My kittens have expensive taste
By kittenmom on Jan 11, 2021
My two kittens LOVE this flavor. I rotate their foods semi-frequently to prevent the development or allergies or intolerances; they are in love with this particular food. They'll gobble it right up, no questions asked, where with other foods they tend to be more reluctant. I also trust Ziwi's ingredient sourcing and am generally a fan of their high quality recipes. I would recommend, despite the price.

Chickpea filler
By Ziwi on Jan 19, 2021
My cat likes this food. At such a high cost I am disappointed to see chickpeas (a non--nutritive filler) high up on the ingredients list. Chickpeas have some protein, but cats are carnivores and need only animal protein- that's why we buy an expensive food like Ziwi, to avoid vegetable protens.

Warning: Formula Changed, Cat won't touch
By Lunasu on Nov 28, 2020
My Maine Coon girl used to love Ziwi peak venison canned until yesterday. She had a surgery and has to be on wet food for 2 weeks. I fed her two cases of the same brand, same flavor I got from chewy 8 months ago. After those ran out, I got her another box the day before yesterday, while she will not touch the canned food any more! She had her last half of can from our last purchase, and refused to eat even a bit from the new box yesterday. Apparently there is something changed in the new formula. Won't recommend anymore:( Sorry Ziwi peak

Total game changer!
By Metalblond on Oct 15, 2020
My Maine Coon was suffering from horrible IBD, throwing up daily, and has allergy issues that made him drastically underweight and refusing to eat more than a tiny bit of any food. I was desperate and decided to do a complete diet change with novel proteins to see if it would help. I decided to try Ziwi in the venison and lamb flavors since I heard great things about the company and I really hoped that he would have some interest in the food. Not only was he interested, he loved it--and this cat who would sit and not eat now jumps up mouth open and ready to feast on his Ziwi Peak. Consistently. After 3 months on Ziwi Peak (along with another New Zealand food that I also get from Chewy) he has gained some much needed weight, very rarely vomits and his IBD and allergy issues have cleared up considerably. After taking him to the vet- she was amazed when she saw him. He has lots of energy, a healthy appetite and his fur looks and feels amazing-- all thanks to his new diet. I've also added the Ziwi chicken to the rotation and that is also another hit. Thank you Ziwi Peak and thank you Chewy for offering such great options! … more

This failed
By Essie on Dec 9, 2020
This cat food was so bad, the smell was even worse. My cats didn't want anything to do with it and my home smelled like rotten fishy cat food for the rest of the day. Far too expensive to end up in the garbage. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this.

Makes cat vomit
By Van1 on Oct 23, 2020
I purchased because the ingredients on the label seemed healthy and veterinarian suggested venison for my cat. My cat ate venison before; however, she would not eat this brand of venison. My other cat hesitated to eat it and immediately vomited after eating. I feared what was in the food to cause vomiting and refusal to eat. I was disappointed because I was originally so excited about the ingredients on the label. Thankfully, Chewy reimbursed the order. Sadly, I have to throw away about a case of food-afraid to donate. I wonder about ingredients.
