Does this have any chicken products in it?

Answer by ChewyApr 23, 2020
This treat does not contain any chicken products within the ingredients.

The packaging says (10x2) next to the number of units, does that mean they are wrapped in packs of two?

Answer by ChewyApr 16, 2019
These pill pops are individually wrapped. The (10x2) on the bag is to signify 20 total pill pops per bag.

Is there any hidden ingredients in this? Chicken by product? My dog is allergic to pork and chicken.

Disappointed

Great idea, but my dog won't eat this, even without the pill.

I bought this product because it is very difficult to find pill pockets without chicken. My dog is sensitive to chicken so I need alternatives. Unfortunately, my dog snubbed his nose at these treats and the peanut butter version they make too so I had to throw them both out.

These are perfect for pills. My dog doesn’t mind taking pills as long as they are covered in a giant cheese slice. I think these are a better option bc they are lower calorie than the American cheese I usually stick his pill in. He gobbled it up and seemed to enjoy the taste.

Stay soft, easy to divide.

Ginger never tires of them, and we use a small piece every day.

These have a firm outer layer and a dense inner core. I would think they would be good for hiding tablets pressed in to the middle for picky dogs as long as their human makes sure to keep their hands/fingers free of the scent of the pill except for the fingers used to press the pill in to the treat. If the scent of the pill is on the hands/fingers that handle the treat, picky dogs will reject the treat by that scent alone. These come individually wrapped, two to a packet. I gave them four stars because I found them inadequate for the capsule I needed them for. They are not soft enough to press a capsule in to, especially a large one, like Amoxicillin (the capsule I have is smaller). I made a hole using a chopstick but it cracked the outer layer which isnt really malleable. Smashing it together and putting it in their supper bowls (their dinner is the consistency of stew) worked fine but probably wouldn't work for most people. Using two treats for one capsule might work in theory but it would be so big only large mouths/dogs would probably eat it whole without discovering the capsule inside.

My dog is notoriously good at sniffing out a pill and refusing to take it. This is the only thing he’s ever taken without issue! We’ve tried peanut butter, sliced meat, and pill pockets from other brands but after a day or two he would stop taking the treat. Highly recommend if you have a picky eater.
