This recipe includes lamb and lamb meal. The lamb meal in our products are the muscle protein and some bone from the lamb that have been cooked, dehydrated, and ground into a meal form. This meal does not contain lamb by-products. The dehydrated form of the lamb protein source provides a more concentrated source of protein without adding excess moisture that is in the fresh lamb.

What is the max fat percentage in this food?

This variety has a crude fat content of 12% on an as fed basis, minimum. The recipes are formulated to target the minimum fat content that is provided in the Guaranteed Analysis, any deviation from this as-fed percentage would be minimal. Please speak with your veterinarian to ensure this value is low enough to be a suitable diet for your pet.

Multiple shipping delays

We had placed our order far in advance to running out of food. The original receipt date was 3-4 days earlier than when the package was delivered. We got 3 separate

We got 3 separate out for delivery notifications and it didn’t deliver until 12/20. This is not an indictment on the product, but rather the service. Chewy is typically all over it and this is our first negative experience.

Softest fur and healthy weight

Our ACD has been on this food for YEARS and he has done really well on it. His skin and fur is healthy and he maintains a good weight. Not sure if it’s the food

My pup is allergic to chicken which hides as an ingredient listed as “natural flavor.” He’s also allergic to beef and we have trouble finding foods for him. This food has 1 protein and he does well with it! I loved the tiny bags, they fit perfectly in the feeder. I believe they discontinued that size but it was more expensive by weight so it does save me money by forcing me to buy the large or medium sized bags.

We took that bag, what was left in the opened bag and two other bags of Purina One (40 lb.) to Pinal County, AZ Rescue. We appreciate the efforts of Chewy. They are always looking for more dog and cat food besides medicine containers.

My dog has a very sensitive stomach which was not helped by the sensitive stomach foods that we had tried. Other than feeding a prescription diet, the vet said to look for something that did not have any chicken, beef, egg, or dairy. That was a lot harder to do than I would have thought as many foods, even those marketed as sensitive, snuck in chicken and egg. This was one of the few foods I found that didn't have any of the ingredients the vet said to avoid and also didn't have any other funky ingredients in it. My dog is a bit of a picky eater and she has really liked this food. And her tummy troubles have definitely improved. She used to constantly eat grass, but she's almost stopped doing that completely. It's only been about three months on this food, but so far so good. We plan to keep her on this since she's done so well on it.
