  • box turtle food looks good, but.. . . .

    By on

The food looked good, the bits of carrot and other bits embedded in the gel looked good from my standpoint. But, I'm not a turtle, and neither of my box turtles were too keen to eat it. I thought it a good departure from the daily romaine, hard boiled egg, nightcrawlers, and banana. I've been trying to get them interested in it for a couple of weeks. No go.

  • box turtle food

this is almost the only thing my box turtles will eat, they do like tomatoes bananas and strawberries though. But just those things were not a good diet, Now when I mix in Zoo Med Box turtle food they are eating every thing. It is easy to feed and I think they like it much better than that dry food I was told to feed them before. I give each one a spoon full with their other food once a day. I cover the rest and store in the fridge.I take it out about a half hour to get to room temp. before I give it to them. They come running (at turtle speed) as soon as they see the dish. I highly recommend this product for finicky eaters.

My Turtle (Terry) refused everything I put in front of her until I gave her some canned turtle food. She tested it for a little bit them devoured the rest of what I put in front of her.
