I have ordered over 10 bulbs at this point trying to get them to fit. ZooMed needs to check their manufacturers out because they keep making them mm too long to fit into their exclusive 22” hoods. Not only does no one else have 55cm bulbs, the only company that makes them can’t make their own bulbs right. I’m tired of having to call Chewy each time I order these. I have to spend $70 on a new hood and have to replace 2. Not happy. Though Chewy does help with replacing these.
I purchased two that came in in the same week in late December. I did not place open or use the bulbs until mid january. The one bulb has already burned out. I have used these fixtures on all my reptile cages for years and usually have to change the bulb at the 6 month mark as suggested but it is still working. This is not a cheap bulb and now i have to order another one and my iguana has no uvb light right now.
This bulb burned out in 5 weeks..will see if chewy will send replacement..if not do not buy!
So far so good. Use these for my chameleon. I don't have a tester to see if the bulb is still putting out enough UVB so I swap them out around every 6 months to make sure he is getting enough UVB. So far no issues. Will continue to buy.
Ordered it a month ago and didn't test it immediately since my current one hadn't went out yet. Well now it's a month later and I went to replace it and it doesn't work, which really stinks because it's hard enough to find this style of light as it is.
